I think they were just testing the audio on the site. I had the window open in the background with volume all the way up and it just started blaring Victory March, scared the shit out of me...

and now they are showing some video of Kelly with his career accomplishments and accolades.

Espn will have it at 1:30

Crist, Rudolph, Floyd, Ethan Johnson, and Lewis-Moore will be a part of the press conference and will answer questions or make statements, didn't hear the beginning of the announcement

The links in the OP were copied from another thread, they aren't full links and I assume that's why they didn't work.

He seems to me like a direct, no-bullshit coach. I also liked how he aluded to the fact about getting your players to buy into the system and taking them to the next level. In other words, "you coach them up." That did not happen under Weis for the overwhelming majority of players, especially the defensive players.

You're absolutely correct. Kelly has the rare ability to make a player play much higher than their ability. He's had to do that with the limited resources and players he's had over the years, and yet he still wins.

I was impressed with his press conference, and really think Kelly fits ND well. I'm excited to see what he can do with the talent currently on the roster.

I'm with you rocket, I can admit I was wrong about Kelly. ;)

I think he's the perfect choice/fit for what ND needs.

ND fans said the same thing about Weis and look where that got you. New coach, same shit.

6-6 another prestigious Hawaii bowl visit if you are humble enough to accept.

Okay so who had 2:59 pm in the office pool for the first asshole troll to post?

I listened to the press conference on the radio in between store visits today. I have to say that I was very impressed with Kelly. I'm still not getting too excited...and remaining cautiously optimistic...but I do think he will give ND a shot to win. He is a very charismatic guy...and I can see that working very well for him on the recruiting trail.

Best of luck Coach Kelly! Wake up those echoes!!

Very different from Weis. I liked his comment, "You don't win with x's and o's. You win with passion." Very, very different.

I especially love how Stoops has been dismissed. THat is great.

First you insinuate two guys her sleep together, then you ask me to follow you around, and your talking about chasing nuts... If I may quote Seinfeld, "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Also Cincy was not known for great defense and defense has been a huge problem at ND. I think Kelly is a great coach but I don't think he fits well at ND.

See I think ND is going to have similar growing pains that Michigan has had the past 2 years. He runs a spread offense and ND clearly does not have the players to run that offense. Now it is not an spread option so there wont be near as much in terms of growing pains but there is going to be plenty of them.

This is so true and it will be denied by those same fans who are now claiming they knew that the last coach was not the man for the job.

Thats not true, Weis would spread it out rather often. ND has the recievers in Floyd, Kamara, Evans, Walker, and Goodman to run the spread. Riddick and Allen are definitly good backs for the system. Weis to Kelly is nowehere near the offensive transition of Carr to Rodriguez.

This does not even make sense.
