#'s 2, 4, 5, and 7 all lost

gorocks99What a weekend. Stanford still playing, only up one on Cal at half.
It's been mentioned in other threads, but when the BCS standings come out they should be #1 LSU, #2 Alabama, #3 Arkansas. Va Tech number 4? Who would've seen that coming? -
Azubuike24Virginia Tech has been less than impressive for the last month too. Barely beat Duke. Tried to choke the game away against UNC. Crazy that nobody has even mentioned them all year and they will be 4th in the BCS.
-
ironman02If Arkansas beats LSU, this whole thing is gonna get even uglier.
Also, what happens if LSU beats Arkansas, but loses the SEC Title game? Could they still end up in the Top 2 with Bama, but UGA get the auto bid? In that scenario, does the SEC get three teams in the BCS? -
thedynasty1998Unbelievable day. What happens if LSU loses next week and so does Bama? Does VT sneak in?
-
Azubuike24If LSU beats Arkansas, they would have wins over 3 BCS top 10 teams and still only 1-loss (if they lose to Georgia).
In that case, I'd think LSU clinches a spot in the BCS Title Game (either #1 or #2) with a win over the Hogs.
The big drama is going to be who is going to be the 2nd team in... -
tk421have three teams from the same conference division been 1,2 and 3 in the BCS before?
-
cats gone wildNo need to look that up. The answer is no. It doesnt seem possible.

Comparing resumes of the 1-loss teams...thedynasty1998;980212 wrote:Unbelievable day. What happens if LSU loses next week and so does Bama? Does VT sneak in?
Virginia Tech (home vs a 2 or 3-loss Clemson team)
Stanford (home vs a 2-loss Oregon team)
Alabama (home vs an unbeaten or 1-loss LSU team)
Oklahoma State (road vs a 5-loss Iowa State team)
I still don't see how Virginia Tech would have a better resume than Alabama... -
cats gone wildVT has looked terrible this year. They are no where's near a top 5 team.

gorocks99Well, one thing's for sure, the BCS will find a way to match up Houston and Boise. Because we all want to see mid-majors play each other in BCS games.

That's not going to happen, Boise has a loss.gorocks99;980225 wrote:Well, one thing's for sure, the BCS will find a way to match up Houston and Boise. Because we all want to see mid-majors play each other in BCS games.
I will say this though.... given that all of these teams are losing two games and if LSU loses another, Houston would deserve a shot at the NCG if they are still undefeated. -
thedynasty1998
They wouldn't. But they aren't a top 5 team either, yet are ranked there. I do wonder how conference championships would factor in.Azubuike24;980219 wrote:Comparing resumes of the 1-loss teams...

cats gone wildIf LSU loses to Ark, and Ark wins the SEC title game, does LSU and ARK play again? Or does Bama (who lost at home to LSU already) get in over LSU? Dont think I have to worry about this but......
Or what if LSU wins vs ARK and loses to UGA? Will LSU still automatically get in the title game? -
gorocks99
Could happen, if Houston doesn't jump Boise in the rankings, Boise would get the mid-major AQ bid. Right now Boise's 10 and Houston is 11. And I don't see a scenario where an undefeated Houston isn't in the BCS.Little Danny;980228 wrote:That's not going to happen, Boise has a loss. -

Azubuike24You have to figure if LSU ends with even 1-loss, they will play for the BCSNCG.

Why??? If LSU loses everyone else has shat the bed and lost 1-2 games.ytownfootball;980237 wrote:El Oh Fricken El
Might as well tell everyone that plays outside the B10, SEC, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and USC to pack it in... these are the only schools that matter because they play in front of a big crowd. -

cats gone wildLSU has beat 2 top teams tho and been ranked #1 for 2 months. Bama shouldnt get in over a team they lost to. And most one or 2 loss teams have losses to unranked teams, remember???

TCU's schedule was no more impressive last year than Houston's and they were able to beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. IIRC people here in Big Ten Country thought Wisconsin was one of the best teams in the country before that game. -

If TCU wins out, it won't matter that Boise is higher than Houston in the BCS standings.
