  With the new CBA, the salaries are slotted. Both Luck and Barkley will be had at bargain basement prices compared to many first round picks in the last few seasons where guys could basically hold out and negotiate depending on what everyone in front of them got.

  If I'm a GM, I'd still think about trading my #1 pick if some other team wants Luck so bad to give up a future #1 and other picks. Don't know if the Colts would be doing that, I assume they will end up with the first pick.

  Agreed. The Colts will hold a lot of the keys to how the draft plays out. In most years, where the #1 pick (especially a QB) would become 1 of the top 3 highest-paid players on your team, it would be impossible for them to swing it without getting rid of Peyton. However, with the slotted salaries, they should be able to afford the cap hit on Peyton and carry Luck for at least a year or two before deciding which direction to move. Definitely wouldn't have been possible prior to this CBA.

  All the dirt sheets have suggested that off the record GM's have said minimum 3 first round picks for luck plus 2 seconds and more. 2 first rounders + was standard protocol usually, but he has such a high grade it has been said that a team would have to part with 3 + the extra stuff.
  
  I don't see anyone actually doing it, but 2 first rounders won't get it done.

  USC has been able to move the ball running. Made a mistake last drive throwing it on 2nd down. We'll see what they do here...they are probably 3 first downs from icing it.
