Good luck to the SEC today!

What does that comment say in regards to a highly ranked FCS team being a cupcake or not to a highly ranked FBS team?bradmaynard;979703 wrote:^^^ -

I was responding to sleeper, after his response to a post about Alabama. I am not the one who needs to keep up.LJ;979698 wrote:I was responding to you. You said Alabama. Try to keep up. Thanks -

Not including the bowl win that Ohio State won on the field, they've beaten the SEC before. Get a life, bro. You bandwagoned a school that is nuked into oblivion and now you have to pay the consequences. Don't worry, LSU could always use more fans.sportswizuhrd;979708 wrote:Not at the least beat, but keep hating on a conference that your team can't seem to beat(without being stripped of that win). Hate on Notre Dame, go ahead, they haven't done anything in a while, but you really hate the SEC.
People in Ohio still care about USC enough to still hate on them.
Hate on' LOL -

Sorry I did forget to include the time frame of the last decade instead of making it a broad statement. I am as much of a fan to the school in Southern California that is "nuked into oblivion" as you are of the school in Columbus that isn't far behind. -

Let me guess, you are a Duke/North Carolina fan in basketball LOLsportswizuhrd;979739 wrote:Sorry I did forget to include the time frame of the last decade instead of making it a broad statement. My bad.

This thread was made to poke fun at the SEC playing high school teams this week. You came in and told us all off by letting us know that Georgia Southern was serious business by telling us they aren't a joke and that they are the 3rd ranked D-2 team. I understand you are now going to try to spin your comment to make it seem like all you were pointing out was that they run the triple option, thus the rushing yards, but clearly with your other statements you truly believed in your heart of hearts that Georgia Southern deserved a head nod, if only for a few minutes!Con_Alma;979712 wrote:What does that comment say in regards to a highly ranked FCS team being a cupcake or not to a highly ranked FBS team? -
swamisezI think Georgia Southern is better than the directional michigan schools, Kent, Akron, possibly BG. Would also take App State over those schools.

So Alabama pretty much knew they were running the ball every play yet still gave up 302 yds?Con_Alma;979707 wrote:Not a bad day rushing wise for the Eagles.
They completed 1 pass for 40 yards!!!! Lol. -

Edit-Notre Dame football.
Edit #2 - SEC football. -

D-2? Like it or not, Georgia Southern and the other top FCS schools would be right there with the bottom 25% of FBS.bradmaynard;979825 wrote:This thread was made to poke fun at the SEC playing high school teams this week. Go look at the worst 30 teams in D-1 then come back and tell me how that strengthens the argument that Georgia Southern is a solid opponent.Azubuike24;979977 wrote:D-2? Like it or not, Georgia Southern and the other top FCS schools would be right there with the bottom 25% of FBS. -
Azubuike24It doesn't AT ALL say that GAS is a quality opponent. I never said that nor did anyone else. My point was that you tried to degrade them by calling them "D2", which BTW, is a slap in the face, when in-reality that's simply a choice. Competition-wise, it's similar competition to what almost every BCS school faces 2-3 times every season.
I mean Ohio State played Akron. Akron is the worst team in FBS. Them being on the schedule is an automatic "silencer" when talking about any other team's schedule. That's all. -

Oh, I'm sorry that I called Georgia Southern a division 2 school. What is the appropriate terminology for a division 2 football team?Azubuike24;980058 wrote:It doesn't AT ALL say that GAS is a quality opponent. I never said that nor did anyone else. Azubuike24There is a HUGE difference between FCS and D-2, especially a program with the tradition of Georgia Southern.

Ok, so should I refer to them as D-1 1/2 from now on?Azubuike24;980082 wrote:There is a HUGE difference between FCS and D-2, especially a program with the tradition of Georgia Southern. -
Azubuike24No, because they are Division 1...
Division 2 is a lower level which includes the likes of Ohio teams Findlay, Ashland, Ohio Dominican, etc...
It's a huge step down from FCS. -

Just so I completely understand the situation here, you are arguing with me because I offended you by calling Georgia Southern D-2?Azubuike24;980116 wrote:No, because they are Division 1...

Azubuike24I have no ties to Georgia Southern. Nor did I say they weren't a cupcake. I just said it's laughable that there are fans on here discussing them as an opponent when they are no different than the same cupcakes every BCS team has played twice or more this year. That's all.

Your reading comprehension skills are laughable. Go back and observe the first post in this thread, read over the scores at the time of this thread being started, then go ahead and slap yourself across the face a few times.Azubuike24;980126 wrote:I have no ties to Georgia Southern. I was just pointing out that Alabama #1 ranked scoring defense gave up 302 yds rushing and 21 points to a cupcake not that no other BCS teams schedule cupcakes.Azubuike24;980126 wrote:I have no ties to Georgia Southern. Georgia Southern is a cupcake. But I can't tell if you really know the difference between FCS and Division II. Do you understand that Ga Southern is not a Division II team?bradmaynard;980093 wrote:Ok, so should I refer to them as D-1 1/2 from now on? -

That's what I was wondering and one reason why I kept responding. From a logistical standpoint, there is a HUGE difference in the level of competition. Far greater than FBS and FCS.enigmaax;980267 wrote:Georgia Southern is a cupcake. But I can't tell if you really know the difference between FCS and Division II.
