Because 0% of Duke players leave early and go to the NFL. About 30% of Ohio State players do.swamisez;982256 wrote: At Duke 96% of football players graduate

Any other useless statistics you want to throw out to justify a mediocre at best football program? -

"Mediocre at best" might be the greatest compliment ANYONE has given Duke's football program. Because it insinuates their piece of shit program might be as good as mediocre.sleeper;982297 wrote:Because 0% of Duke players leave early and go to the NFL. About 30% of Ohio State players do.

You heard it from the man himself. He expects in 3 years they will be bowl eligible.Heretic;982316 wrote:"Mediocre at best" might be the greatest compliment ANYONE has given Duke's football program. Because it insinuates their piece of **** program might be as good as mediocre. -

He doesn't get it then. You have to win six games in one year. When it takes you three years to win six games, you're still not eligible just because you eventually got to six.sleeper;982320 wrote:You heard it from the man himself. He expects in 3 years they will be bowl eligible. -
se-alumWe'll talk about this after Craft makes Austin Rivers his bitch. I expect Craft gets at least 5 steals against Duke.
-
swamisezWith Syracuse and Pitt added to wake, UVA, state, bc, maryland, Carolina, and the future games with Tulane and FIU There are six wins and bowl eligibility in there.
Duke had Stanford in their grasp in the third quarter, was 7 points worse than ga tech, was in a tie game with UVA until a pick six. Not one of you have seen duke football since cut joined the program and even fewer of you respect acc football because of blatant homerism. The big ten is dreadful and everyone outside of the Midwest agrees.
Boiler up. -

Oh, so you are going to get better because your conference/schedule is getting shittier? Thats progress.swamisez;982894 wrote:With Syracuse and Pitt added to wake, UVA, state, bc, maryland, Carolina, and the future games with Tulane and FIU There are six wins and bowl eligibility in there.

This. If we want to look at the real numbers -- national championships -- the ACC has a five to zero advantage over the Big Ten over the last decade. That's supremacy.ccrunner609 wrote:History says that ACC dominates the B10. -
HeelzACC and BIg 10 will split the challenge.

Looking at most BCS schools, if you want to be competitive you need to be in the 60% graduation rating. The exceptions are Notre Dame and Stanford. Each of those schools have facilities that far surpass Duke. The commitment to football under former president Keohane was lacking, and with increased giving by the Yoh family and the Pascal family Duke football will help lessen that gap.
Duke football will be a bowl eligible team in the next 3 years. The facilities are quickly improving and the disparity in talent from the early 2000's is shrinking. Graduating <90% of players and winning just 6 games is perfectly fine with me. I would love to have a football program that is successful, but realize that logistically it isn't feasible. So long as the program continues to be run cleanly and there aren't scandals filling the papers like there have been at Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, all will be fine.
STFU.
I don't give a shit about how many players OSU graduates. And funny you mention scandals when Duke was involved in a big time rape scandal.
Ohio State players sold property for tattoos. Much different than being accused of rape or molestation. -
swamisezRape scandal which amounted to nothing but egg on the face of media outlets for sensationalism and pre-judgement. Revealed now that claim was made by a now convicted murderer, and three time felon Crystal Gail Mangum.

I'd probably be quicker to attend a Kansas tornado than a Duke football game, but we both know that the Duke lacrosse "scandal" was nothing more than complete bullshit and an utter fabrication on the part of a bitch, who is black, trying to be entrepreneurial by disrobing herself at a frat party and then yelling rape in her hunt for a bunch of rich white kids' doe. She might as well have just robbed them all at gunpoint. The ONLY reason this story became so followed nationally is because of ridiculous mongers’ of prejudice such as Al Sharpton and a district prosecutor gone mad in the pursuit of publicity and etching a name for himself.hoops23 wrote:And funny you mention scandals when Duke was involved in a big time rape scandal.
Even the alleged “victim” admitted in the end that she was just a stripper scheming for cash. -

I thought you were going to say a Kansas football game...which is equally as devastating as a Kansas tornadoreclegend22;983521 wrote:I'd probably be quicker to attend a Kansas tornado than a Duke football game.. -
birddog23Duke by 6 over OSU. Craft can't guard Curry, Rivers, and Dawkins all at the same time can he? Dawkins, who has really came on defensively early this season limits Buford to 10 points. Sullinger does have a huge game though, just not enough. Kelly causes a matchup problem with Thomas by being an inside and outside threat(btw does he still take terrible shots?). The Blue Devils are a little deeper than the Bucks in my mind and get a bit worn down by the end of the game. And then at the end I walk out of the Schott proudly sporting my Duke Blue Devil attire! Go Duke!
PS - Anyone else going to this game Tuesday evening? -
swamisezDuke defense isn't causing many turnovers, and offenses haven't really been deterred by pressure.
Thornton is the only pressure guard out there, and he draws fouls with alarming regularity. Curry, Rivers, Dawkins are the scorers and get most of the pt. This is why Duke's defense hasn't been up to its own standards.
I have a hard time believing this group will limit Ohio State offensively, and given that it will be a hostile road environment I don't envision another 11-20 night from 3 point range.
Duke is getting better, but they aren't there defensively to win a game like this on the road.

Dawkins holding Buford to 10? Haha are you joking? Buford can shoot the ball from anywhere. He doesn't miss mid-range jumpers and when he comes of screens, he rarely misses a 3 ball. Ryan Kelly creating matchup problems? C'mon man.birddog23;984541 wrote:Duke by 6 over OSU. Craft can't guard Curry, Rivers, and Dawkins all at the same time can he? reclegend22The 6-11 Kelly's ability to step out and hit the three ball with regularity definitely can cause some matchup problems for opposing defenses. Playing the four or in some cases the five, he stretches the D considerably, allowing more freedom for guys like Curry and Rivers to find open gaps in the paint.

That's great that Buford can shoot from anywhere, I just think he'll score around 10 points. Which isn't that crazy IMO considering he is a 14 point per game guy for his career and the fact that Sullinger will probably score around 30-35 points. Ryan Kelly has been playing really well this year both inside and out.stephen3108;985302 wrote:Dawkins holding Buford to 10? Haha are you joking? Buford can shoot the ball from anywhere. Kelly could cause some problems if Duke runs the high pick & pop with him. That's how Florida stayed in the game early against OSU.reclegend22;985350 wrote:The 6-11 Kelly's ability to step out and hit the three ball with regularity definitely can cause some matchup problems for opposing defenses. Really???? KU's Jeff Withy had a career night against Plumlee. He had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Not bad for a guy who went for 6 and 6 against UCLA, 2 and 6 against GT, 7 and 6 against Kentucky.Mason Plumlee handled Kansas big men last night.
KU's other big man, Thomas Robinson had 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Did Plumlee handle KU's big men?? I guess it depends on your definition of handle. -

Why would you want to foul a 90% free throw shooter 20 times?ccrunner609;985953 wrote:Duke has 20 fouls to throw at Sully. -

You said Plumlee HANDLED KU's big men. HE may have gotten his, but he didn't HANDLE anybody. And he had 17 and 12, 3 blocks and went 7-9 from the FT line. -
