24 Hours of College Hoops.

    ESPN's 24 hour+ marathon is tonight/tomorrow.

I'd like to know why I haven't seen much promotion about it this year. This is one of three days a year that I try to watch as many basketball games consecutively as possible, the others being the first Thursday/Friday of the NCAA tournament.

I havent seen as much either, but oh well. I know about it, and Ill watch.

Funny that this day comes the day the NBA Season essentially died for good.

Yeah, it is really strange that there hasn't been more advertisement of this event. I understand why there wasn't a whole lot of discussion/segments dedicated to the start of the college basketball season this past weekend on shows such as SportsCenter and ESPNews, with the constant Penn State coverage and all, but you'd at least expect there to be more promotion in the form of commercials, etc.

I'm looking forward to see Washington State at Gonzaga at midnight. The Zags will need Rony Turiaf to really step it up in the paint.

Yes, because Mark Hendrickson is a beast inside when he's not on the mound.

BTW, do you know how hard it was to find a halfway decent player from Wazzu? Difficult. With the Zags I had no problem but wanted to counterpoint(or attempt to) with a former Cougar. Damn their past players have sucked outside of 07-08.

Wazzu making a hell of a run here to make this close (4 point game) at the under 4 timout. :o

I'm not very high on Gonzaga. I've always thought Sacre and Harris were both pretty overrated. Pangos has been impressive though. They've got some shooters for sure.

Really looking forward to Belmont/Memphis at noon. Might try to get up for the Kent State/WVU game at 10, but I'll probably be up until 4 and then decide I'd rather sleep another couple of hours.

As I said in the other thread, I actually thought Gonzaga, during stretches, looked better than it has in a couple of years. Obviously a tremendous shooting night will do wonders to perception -- the Bulldogs nailed 13 threes in the contest -- but if Harris and the seven-footer Sacre finally play to their potential, Gonzaga might have a chance to contend for a long March run. As you said, Mulva, they certainly have the long-distance firepower.

But it definitely depends on the consistency of their lead man, Elias Harris.

Kind of wish ESPN would show more live college basketball during the day instead of 20+ hours of SportsCenter.

    Indeed.

I'm sort of surprised at the lack of comments about Kent State beating West Virginia.

One of the reason for this kind of problem, my opinion is that there is no proper encouragement provided for the sports and no proper facilities provided in order to improve the sports. Most of the people are really very much interesting to look into the mararthon, but it has decreased nowadays.
