No, I don't agree. I don't see people treating him like he raped children. I see people treating him like he wasn't interested enough to determine for himself if he thought people were raping children and then fightign to stop it.

This Federal Law is called the Child Protection Act. Within this law it says that anyone who sees or knows about a child molestation MUST report it to the police or local Child protection agency with in a 48 hour period. Failure to do so can result in up to $500 fine and 96 days sin jail. If you think the punishment should be harsher lobby your Senator and Congressman. The American way as opposed to a dictatorship.

It would have been different if he was the one who SAW it happen and didnt call the cops. He was fired not because he really did anything criminal, but because he didnt do more I guess. There are laws/statutes that educators and others are bound to report it to the law, but I dont know how far that reaches in terms of if you are just told about it or what.

That Ginger shoulda have stopped it, and called the police. He is more at fault than Paterno is. JoPa def should have done more, and I agree that he should have been fired, but also that ginger shoulda been **** canned first, and charged for not calling police
I haven't seen anything on here about this, but it could have been a factor in the way McQuery handled the situation. McQuery's parents and Sandusky and his family were close friends. They did many things together socially as families. McQuery stayed overnight at the McQuery home many times. McQuery played football for Penn State and witnessed Sandusky's coaching methods. He was a GA and assistant coach under Sandusky for 8 years.

I saw a Doctor from Kansas State University who specializes in child abuse and is a renowned expert on the subject. He talked about why a child predator is able to do what he does and fail to be reported. He is always a person in a position of power over his victims. He has the type of personality that intimidates people who know him, especially young people. For 25 years McQueary had been intimidated by Sandusky. Who knows what he had seen in the Sandusky home between him and his 6 adopted children. Who knows what McQueary had heard or seen in that basement bedroom. Who knows what Sandusky might have done to McQuery on his many sleep overs. In any case, I suspect Mcquery was at the least affected by Sandusky's overwhelming power and personality when it came to young children. Think about it, why did McQueary run to his father's house after witnessing the molestation in the shower. Why did he stay at his fathers house until the next morning then go to Paterno? He was fearful, he knew that Sandusky had seen him witnessing the anal sex. I'm quite sure they both knew good old JoePa what take care of the situation and Sandusky would be dealt with so he could no longer abuse young boys.

Based on what many Head Coaches of other football programs have said, the McQuearys undoubtedly already knew about Sandusky's proclivity for young boys. These head coaches all said that there are NEVER any secrets among coaches on a football staff.

Maybe I missed it somewhere in there, but the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act is about registration of sex offenders. Doesn't say anything about reporting anything.

The only federal investigation I have heard about was whether Penn State (as an institution) didn't report crimes accurately as required by the Clery Act. That would subject the school to civil penalties, but it wouldn't make an individual criminally liable.
