RichRod never even came close to beating Ohio State in 3 seasons and he took Michigan to one bowl game and got absolutely pasted.
Yep. And if BK wins, it will be overlooked. If he doesn't, look out. Just like RR. Michigan fans said the same thing about RR. Winning cures all. Well, the winning didn't happen enough.

    PS - he's also 0-2 against another rival. :)

He's got the same record as Lou Holtz at this point in his tenture at ND.

    He's recruiting on a Holtz-like level too.

Agreed but it's too early to label him RichRod though and frankly it isn't a great comparison for the reasons I listed. As far as the 0-2 vs. Michigan.....Denard Robinson makes up for a lot. He can't stay at UM forever.

Holtz like but not equal to?

I'm not quite comparing it yet. I think BK at ND is way better than RR at UM. There was a lot more involved with RR at UM (see Bacon's new book). I am merely pointing out some of the similarities. He needs get it fixed now before it becomes ammo against him during the tough times.

Someone mentioned his recruiting. He is doing that well. Another reason for him to settle down. That can affect recruiting.

As for Robinson...you may be correct. But most teams can say that about a player. Take anyone's star away and they aren't the same. UM has a damn good QB being groomed.

Denard is special and that's pretty obvious. Devin....well, that remains to be seen.

Sure it does. But the beat goes on. Troy was special. TP was special (up for debate I guess :p). Losing Denard won't end Michigan football.

Kelly =/= Rodriquez. Not even close.

People thought Kelly lambasted his players too hard during the USF game, while ignoring that after he turned red on national tv, his team went on a 20-7 run and nearly came back to win the game.

People said he threw his players under the bus, despite ignoring the 18 TO's from the quarterbacks, and said he was dividing his team...while ignoring that the team went on to play its best game of the season in a 56-14 destruction of Navy.

CLEARLY, none of us know what it is like to be a member of his team; none of us know the relationships that he has with his players; and none of us know what really happened.

What I really see is people being taken aback by his honesty. Personally I love it. It's really too bad that the media can't just shut the fuck up and let a coach motivate his team.

Simply put, if the play on the field gets better, no one has any right to complain about what he says about his team. He's making his players uncomfortable? I could give a shit this is D1 football.

Rodriguez's teams got worse as the year went along, there is no comparison here other than both are probably assholes. Most successful coaches are until you know them, especially considering Kelly is a "tough love" coach.

    Stop being pussies.

Just read through this thread. Good stuff.

I love reading ND fans responses. They are so delusional. ND hasn't won a game anyone outside has cared about for 20+ years. BK is a mix between RR and Weis. Weis because he's terrible and RR because he cares more about protecting his ego than actually winning games. ND fans can pretend all they want that BK is the future, but the guy just isn't good enough. You're sitting at 3 losses with one of the easiest schedules in the country with the best team you've had since the fraud of 2005. By contrast, OSU is having its worst season in nearly half a century and have the same amount of losses. ND is a joke, always have been, always will be, book it.

At least Notre Dame can beat Michigan State.

The delusional people here are the cocksuckers like yourself who are making up stories that simply did not happen, and drawing conclusions which never came to fruition.

As for one of the easiest schedules, last time I checked it was #22. So again go fuck yourself.

I won't comment on anything except for the beating Navy part. Navy sucks. RR beat the bad teams too. So that is irrelevant.

I didn't say that losing Denard would end Michigan football. I simply stated that he makes up for a lot and he'll be gone soon. He'll be hard to replace but UM football is still damn good. Just might not have a difference maker of that caliber after him.

No argument there on the Navy aspect. They are bad. But regardless Notre Dame did completely dominate then like they were supposed to. There was absolutely zero sign of an hinted coup or schism in the team. EVERYONE played well. Well, except maybe Brindza and Motta.

Rodriquez also lost to several bad teams, it's not exactly irrelevant. Notre Dame is actually trending upward; Rodriguez's teams seemed to hit a wall after six weeks and bottom out rather quickly.

Kelly will be around a lot longer than Rodriguez, and will win more games. Kelly just needs to realize that he has to watch every word out of his mouth because they will be jumped on by all of the haters.

Coming from a Buckeye fan? Whose most heralded coach was a goon like this:

A coach yells at his players about mistakes and not executing >>>>>> A coach who assaults his own players for not executing...and punches an opposing player for beating him.

    Talk about some hypocrisy.

Don't be too mad over the chatter. Although I mean it's true, Notre Dame hasn't been relevant in quiet some time

The difference is, nobody is defending Woody Hayes' actions, but if Woody was the coach of ND we'd never hear the end about how it was justified. ND fans are desperate for a chance at winning 1 game that someone cares about. It might be 100 years before that happens.

No if he were the coach at ND we'd never hear the end of it from you jackoffs.

It's pretty easy to defend when the ONLY people upset about it are the Notre Dame haters. The players clearly got past it.
