NCAA announces it has concluded its investigation into Auburn with no major findings of violations -
se-alumAnd this, my friends, is why you do not cooperate with the NCAA. They have very little power to do anything if you don't readily give them access to documents.

se-alumApparently, the guys implicating Auburn in the HBO special, refused to cooperate(i.e. Booster got to them before the NCAA did).

You say that now... -

Yep. I've learned my lesson on this one. It doesn't pay to cooperate with this group. They're too corrupt and self-serving. I've adopted the SEC view of this from now on: just keep your mouths shut. If nobody talks, there's a good chance they'll have to walk away.karen lotz;931598 wrote:You say that now... -

WriterbuckeyeI don't believe the NCAA cares about punishing those who are the biggest cheats; it cares about continuing to take in its billions of dollars from basketball, and lumber along like the bloated bureaucratic whale it has become. In the meantime, it will pick off the schools that self-report or are too stupid to know how to hide information; and then pat itself on the back for the great job its doing policing amateur sports.

enigmaaxSo, what is it that everyone knows Auburn hid from the NCAA? Is this all because you assume that they must've paid Cam Newton because his dad tried to get money out of Mississippi State or is it that you believe random bloggers or that everyone must be cheating because your school got busted?

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to that question. -

Well, let's see...Oregon, LSU, OSU, USC, Miami have all had problems in the past year. Alabama and Auburn have been implicated but nothing has been found (those good ole boys know how to keep their mouths closed and their hands open). So yes, I believe most, if not all, of the big boys cheat and if they do it well -- don't get caught.enigmaax;931730 wrote:So, what is it that everyone knows Auburn hid from the NCAA? I can't speak for writerbuckeye, but given the limited choices in your loaded question, I'll go with believing the random bloggers, becauseenigmaax;931730 wrote:So, what is it that everyone knows Auburn hid from the NCAA? 1)we all know where there is smoke, there is fire.
2) Auburn, historically is one of the worst violators of NCAA rules...the owner of 7 seven major infractions.

3) given that, they have had a lot of practice in the art of self defense. Just look at the way OSU bungled a picayune 'improper benefits' case into a major problem vs. the huge $$$ involved at AU. While OSU couldn't stop beating itself up, Auburn deftly ducked and dodged. They should get a halo or something, don't you think? -

No one here believed the SI article on OSU or the article about the agent paying Holmes while he was still at OSU or any of the other items that pointed out the "smoke." Why is that? -
chicago510Innocent is the wrong word.
Not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is more appropriate. -
HitsRusThanks for making my point about Auburn.
You mean the smoke at OSU?...I thought this thread was about Auburn! -

Auburn committed major violations, but did very well covering it up to the point there was no way the NCAA could penalize speculation. -
jordo212000Man, this is unbelievable. Can't believe that they got nothing out of all of this.
