We're middle of the pack big 10 rushing with ZERO passing offense. I would argue we probably have one of the best rushing attacks... it's kind of hard to rush the ball when everyone knows that a team cannot pass.

Which is exactly Michigan's problem right now. The defense just stacks the box and dares DR to throw.

Guess, what? It ain't working well. Call me crazy, but I really think getting Gardner in at QB and getting DR to another spot gives us a better chance to win. DG is a good QB (yes, he will make rookie mistakes), and it would really spread out the defense trying to defend the pass and DR.

Lots of talk about this amongst Michigan fans. Seems to be a 50/50 split in favor. Hoke even commented that DG can be a better passer at times. I really believe Hoke wants to start weening DR away from full-time QB. I won't be surprised if DG is at least the starter NEXT year, with DR in a Percy Harvin type role.

And DR will thank Michigan when he actually gets some looks from the NFL. He isn't going to get them as a QB.

you call me a bad poster, yet i said this same thing way before you.

Daniel "Boom" Herron proved why he was #1 on the depth chart. I know a lot of posters who continually cast him off as ineffective, slow and unable to hit the hole, you guys look stupid today :o as his presence was felt early and often. He was particularly good considering we had absolutely zero ability to pass and was the focus of the "gameplan" if you can call it that.

Just watched this on dvr since I went to the UC game yesterday. Disappointing, yes. Not the end of the world.

It's mind boggling how poor the play calling was inside MSU territory. If they aren't going to attempt long field goals they need to be running the ball more.

Borges was in over his head yesterday. Hopefully for the last time this year.

I am going to disagree with this part. I don't think he was necessarily in over his head, but I do think he got too creative. I would have rather of seen I-Formation with Fitz getting the ball. Take the 4th down call for example, line up just like they did, but POUND IT IN THERE!!! I think if they're stopping Denard, then they should try the power run game with Fitz/or another running back.

The problem is, they put 8 in the box to stop Denard. The running game won't get far either. They've got to get a passing game or this will continue.

Or you can go 4 and 5 wide so they can't put 8-9 in the box. Do what worked last year.

But they don't respect the pass, and rightfully so. So they still defend run 1st, pass 2nd.

I just wanted to see it tried; that's all. I think they were going to do it once, but there was a false start.

Love how scUM fans are deserting Ratard Robinson as their QB of choice and clamoring for Gardner to get a start. Rats leaving a sinking ship. Luke will leave OSU with one win over scUM as HC of the Buckeyes. Bank It.

Not quite what you think, but whatever makes you feel good about your Bucks.

Michigan's coach is a dipshit for trying to run a pro-style offense with a spread QB. If he had half a brain he would either:

    a) pitch his playbook and let Denard run all over the place
    or
    b) start a QB who can throw the ball more than 10 yards

I really think we'll start seeing more B.

    I agree 100%.

Denard is still the best QB on the roster...even as a passer. Last year he was one of the more efficient passers in the NCAA. He is not a pro style passer. His passes are best when they come off run action or more specifically quick passes of the zone read look. UM has abandoned the zone read (the play that makes Denard great). Until they get beck to the zone read and the quick passes off of it, they will struggle. Quit spending practice time on gimmick crap and run what has been proven to work.

Which plays other than the reverse were gimmick?
  • WebFire
I do agree that if they are going to stick with Denard, they need to play to his strengths.

Anything that puts your starting QB at WR or on the bench.

    I disagree.
