Ohio State... Bowl Eligible...UhOh...

It may be, but I don't think we'll see the same dominance by one or the other that we saw the last 2 decades. OSU is just a good head coach hire from being back where they were, IMO.vball10set;928916 wrote:And I agreed with you...what goes around, comes around--and it appears it's coming around -

What I'm saying is nothing new for me at least. I've always said that I'd rather see OSU go 1-11 with that one win coming against Michigan than going 11-1 with a loss to Michigan.WebFire;928900 wrote:Wow. This sounds like the Cooper years all over again!
Music to my ears. -

I always thought that was really retarded when fans said it during Cooper years, and I think it is now. Would you really rather be 1-11?krambman;929059 wrote:What I'm saying is nothing new for me at least. How about it sucks to be undefeated and then have your season ruined by Michigan. So I can understand how it might be better to be 0-11 and ruin UM's season. (although fans will be jumping from the top of the shoe long before we get to 0-11)WebFire;929081 wrote:I always thought that was really retarded when fans said it during Cooper years, and I think it is now. I understand, but I'd take 11-1 over 1-11 any day. I don't care how it happened.FatHobbit;929109 wrote:How about it sucks to be undefeated and then have your season ruined by Michigan. Let's hope they get bowl eligible.krambman;928896 wrote:Beating Michigan is the most important goal left for this team this year as far as I'm concerned.
Even though watching OSU play in a bowl game before New Year's will be painful, these young players could certainly use the extra practice.
Dont start counting the chickens just yet. It has still been over 7 years since Michigan last defeated Ohio State in football. We'll see where Ohio State, and more importantly for UM fans Denard Robinson, is by season's end.WebFire;928912 wrote:Yep. I tried telling the young OSU fans that it doesn't stay the same forever.
I feel Ohio State will improve as the season progresses and I also believe that Denard will be banged up at the end of the year just like last season. -

Doesn't even matter where this season ends up. It goes in cycles. Not just the UM/OSU game. The general success of the program. No team will win 10+ every single season. So I stand by my statement.dwccrew;929801 wrote: Dont start counting the chickens just yet. It has still been over 7 years since Michigan last defeated Ohio State in football. dlazzOSU will beat Michigan this year, not sure why people think otherwise. It's the same flashy all-offense, no defense team from last year.

Not sure I agree. Ohio State isn't entering a cycle of less success IMO. They are going to have a rough season this year, but the team is very young and the coaching staff is pathetic. Next year will bring a new coach and a more experienced team. Ohio State will continue to have success (Michigan may as well) and this season will just be considered an anomaly due to NCAA violations committed by the former coach.WebFire;929874 wrote:Doesn't even matter where this season ends up. I agree with you. However, these young Buck fans think 12-0, 11-1 and NC games are the norm. They've been spoiled because that's all they've know. 11-1 and beating Michigan every single year will not happen as the norm. If you think otherwise, let's start looking at all the major programs. We really need to look no further than 3-3 for OSU right now. I'd say a good portion of OSU fans thought 3 losses was the floor for the whole season, let alone after half.dwccrew;930065 wrote:Not sure I agree. Keep in mind I'm not saying they will have a big meltdown and have losing seasons. But the UM/OSU series will even back up, and OSU will have to battle for B1G championships again. -

I can agree with this, although I hope you are wrong and Ohio State dominates just as much as they did the previous 10 years. I have said before though that once the B1G implemented a championship game, it would be much harder for OSU to dominate like they have over the passed decade.WebFire;930089 wrote:I agree with you. dokkenTook Ohio state 1 completion to beat the #16 team in the country. Wisconsin will be rough but winnable, all others are wins.

I'd have to agree with this. Ohio State has enjoyed great success under Tressel. The last time the Buckeyes suffered a losing season they went 5-6 in 1988.WebFire;930089 wrote:I agree with you. So it is true that young Buckeye fans have no idea what it's like to go through "down" years. Anyone remember the "9-3 Earl" years? Most fans would think 9-3 was a good year but not at Ohio State. 10 wins plus a win over Michigan are MUSTS.
I have a hunch we're about to enter a small string of 9-3 seasons again.
The Buckeyes will likely lose at least 2 more this season and end up 7-5 and play in the Obscure Bowl on December 23rd.
But all things considered, the Buckeyes will post yet another "winning" season to the records books. After all....it's still OHIO STATE. -

it's highly unlikely, but after winning Saturday, it's nice to even be able to entertain the notionCrimson streak;935979 wrote:Wisconsin is just too damn good I don't see Ohio state winning but ya never know -

Wisconsin is on a completely different level and is one of the 2-4 teams in the Big Ten that Ohio State doesn't have a clear advantage in the trenches against. -
