Austin Peay beats Ohio 68-66

newarkcatholicfanNot a good night for the Bobacats who fall to 4-3 on the season.
Leading the way for the Cats tonight was DeVaughn Washington and Armon Bassett with 12 points each. -
atomica60030 game non-conference home winning streak broken tonight. I really expected it to go to 31 and the Cats would go down to Illinois St. next week. Didn't happen.
On an ironic note, I heard on the radio on the way home from the game that OU's last non-conference home defeat before tonight was to DePaul back in 2003, on December 9th. 6 years exactly. Hopefully they can pull it together having lost 3 in a row.
Give credit to the Governors though. They were down 13 at one point and worked their way back into it. That makes come-from-behind wins at Akron, Niagara, and now Ohio. -
JugheadDisgusting performance from everyone in attendance. The fans, the team, the officials... I knew it was going to be a bad night as soon as Erin messed up the Anthem.
I really will give no credit to Peay. They didn't deserve it, and I'll be damned if that ass of an official didn't put one of their guys on the line for 2 shots with .8 seconds left on the clock despite the constant punches and hand checks on the Bobcat players during their attacks to the bucket, all of which were ignored by that same official. I've never been so irritated with an official (and I use that term lightly) in my life, and as the cops were following them out of the tunnel, I asked if they were going to arrest the bastard for stealing the game.
Call me a homer all you wish, but had these officials been taught the rules of the game, there would be no issue. It simply disgusts me as an official myself, that someone could hire somebody like this as one of their ambassadors. -
atomica600Yeah...I agree with you about the officiating. It seemed like they were completely out of position to make a couple of those out of bounds calls. And the call at the end was tough too. It would have been great to see it finished with an extra five minutes.

FidmeisterBad loss.
Never put yourself in position for an official to decide the game against a lesser opponent.
