Are we down to the 4th choice now? Wow they may have to start interviewing "up & coming OFF or DEF coordinators" before someone will take this thing.

I like to think Stoops wanted complete disciplinary control and Swarbrick told him Notre Dame doesn't let the thugs in and that he wouldn't get his wish. I think Stoops, seeing that, wasn't going to take his chances trying to rebuild a program without the tools he thought were necessary.
Everybody gets some thugs, its the nature of the business. To think that Notre Dame doesn't have a few of what you or me would consider a thug is kind of naive.
It is not naive. Notre Dame has parietals in place. That is part of the standards and regulations that I speak of that is keeping Notre Dame from being a top program.

    "thugs" do not do parietals.

Can they just hire a coach already? I'd love for them to take Jason Garrett off the Cowboys. A man can wish, can't he?

Are you talking about the rule where they can only have ladies in their rooms at certain times?

I don't like the thought of Edsall coaching ND. He's probably a very good coach but he's not the "front man" type that Kelly is. Kelly comes from a political background and can probably handle the rigors of the press at ND better Edsall. Plus theirs a lot of offensive talent at ND right now, even with Clausen and tate gone, and I think Kelly can do well defensively at ND, he's coached that side of the ball and is a little more well rounded as a "total" coach.
