None from the list...I'm going with James.

Not so much with the NCAA, but more so with the Heisman committee. You laugh about Persa, I get it, he doesn't play for a flashy team, one that will win a lot of games etc...but Pat Fitzgerald will back this guy and thump for him if he's doing well. Fitzgerald is charismatic and will get press if even somewhat warranted, I like the guy. He's a dark horse, not claiming anything other than that, maybe....maybe an invite.

ytown, I understand that but there are plenty of QBs out there who put up good numbers but are on average teams that just dont get consideration

Persa is a good QB guys. Don't knock 'em.

Nobody is knocking him. Just saying he has zero chance of winning the Heisman

    1.Richardson-Best Player on Best team
    2.Luck-Best QB in the Country
    3.Landry Jones
    4.Taylor Martinez-If healthy,he will carve up Big 10 Defenses

To be fair.....nobody thought Tim Tebow had a chance in hell of winning the Heisman in 07 either

MAJOR difference between Tebow and Persa, not sure why you even mentioned that other then your lovefest for Tebow.
  • Ty Webb
    Not really....

Not really there isn't a huge difference between Tebow and Persa? WTF?

I'm not talking about abilities....I;m strictly talking about chances for the Heisman

If NW can 9-3 or 8-4 and Persa puts up massive numbers...it's not far fetched to think he could at least get an invite
  • Tigerfan00
Ill pick out Kevin Kolb as an example here, he put up crazy numbers for the University of Houston almost every year he played through college, how many invites did he get?

Or even a few of those QBs from Hawaii, how many invites did they get for putting up crazy numbers?

Luck and Landry Jones to finish 1-2.
  • dlazz
Case Keenum should be on that list.

He will get crushed in the Big Ten. I hope he has a good insurance policy. This aint the flashy Big XII. The Big Ten breaks quarterbacks as a hobby. Especially skinny little runts who run a lot.

Landry Jones and Andrew Luck should finish 1-2, with the order to be decided. Others in the mix obviously are Richardson, LeMichael James, Marcus Lattimore, Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon.

Denard Robinson will win another September Heisman.

Luck is the best player, (which is what the Heisman is supposed to be) but I would have to agree if Stanford loses 3 games it will be tough for him to win.
    1) Luck
    2) Jones
    3) Moore

I saw this pic of Richardson on the SI cover, and besides looking like a chiseled beast, I couldn't help but wonder--who paid for those tattoo's? It sucks being cynical :o

Heisman hopeful Dan Persa did not help his Heisman chances yesterday. Sat on the bench because he is still recovering from his Achilles injury. He probably won't play next week either.
  • WebFire
Still don't understand why Persa was ever a Heisman hopeful to begin with. It would have been tough even healthy, but Achilles injuries are no joke.

Achilles injury or not, he had zero chance.

Tyrann Mathieu will be in the mix if he keeps making plays like he did against Oregon.

Exactly. Add in the injury and his name mentioned is a joke. I thought it was dumb that NW was pushing the Persa for Heisman campaign so much.
  • jordo212000
2 weeks in, Dan Persa has zero INTs. However he also has zero pass attempts. I'd say he is currently 2nd in the Heisman running, right ytownfootball?
