I don't mind Hoke calling us Ohio. People don't often call their daddy their full name.

    Ohio=ohio university

Or he's just talking about the entire state as a whole. You know the way Woody referred to Michigan as TSUN, where the S could stand for State of School. How retarded is that? Michigan State is further north than UofM, so which is it?

Hmmm.... I usually say OU when I'm talking about OU, so I would call it a valid request. He's not saying OU or Ohio University, so my guess is that's not what he's talking about.

Apparently it gets under people's skin.

Lmao, where do you come up with this shit? Honestly

And I'm aware that Wisconsin is not anywhere near you in the past 50 years. So basically, its okay to compare the past 50 years with a team you knowingly have an advantage over (Wisconsin) But a team that stacks up rather well with you in the past 50 years (Michigan) only the present is relevant? Convenient

While Brady Hoke was an assistant coach at Michigan from 1995-2002, Michigan went 5-3. So, during his coaching career, he has a winning record vs. OSU.

So you have no problem as a UM fan, if people constantly referred to MSU as "Michigan"?

Yeah, when we play Michigan.... We're gonna tear Michigan apart...etc etc etc.

Sorry, but in most of this state, when people are referring to a university as "Ohio" they are talking about the school in Athens. The school in Columbus is Ohio State.

No, I actually get more annoyed when people try to be cute and say scUM. I just think it's hilarious how people are getting so pissy over this. OSU fans say Meatchicken, TSUN, scUM... when someone from Michigan comes up with something a little gimmicky, all hell breaks loose.

Did you get this upset when Pryor said "University of Ohio State?"

Finally, like I said, most people that I grew up around (I'm from Ohio) as well as people I talked to in college up in BG referred to Ohio University as OU as well as people who went there; they said "OU." Rarely did I hear someone simply say Ohio.

Not upset at all. Just think it's retarded and he could come up with something better.

again, retarded.... but we all know that Pryor isn't the sharpest crayon in the box

When it comes to Athletics, the "Official" name that Ohio University uses to identify themselves is "Ohio". The MAC has a big style guide for the media that covers all of that shit (like every conference). If you wanted to get really technical, "OU" and "Ohio U" are specifically listed as bring improper and not to be used when talking about their athletic teams in print or on TV.

Regardless of Hoke's intention, the fact is he is calling one school the same of another school, which is dumb.

Those names..scUM, meatchicken, tsun..aren't schools in Michigan lol that's.the entire point of this..were not gettin pissy over it; its just incredibly dumb to call one school the name of another school.

By the way, while working in OUs athletics department, I would get in big trouble if I referred to my.school as ou..we are not to refer to the.school as that.

I had a very old business law professor who used to go crazy over that..he.said something about Ohio university being the official public university of Ohio or something like that...and if we refer to it as ou than ohio state would.then take that title...I never knew if that guy.was just crazy or if that was true lol

Agreed. What about spelling out the name of another school? I have never seen or heard of FSU fans spelling out "Florida"(if they can even spell it), Kansas State fans spelling out Kansas, or Penn State spelling out Penn, etc.

I mean we called it OU, as well.

I meant from an athletic department standpoint. It was Ohio University.

I chuckled when I read this on MGoBlog today...
Michigan got Chris Wormley. A foregone conclusion, that, but it's another head to head win for Hoke against the Bobcats. SDE is set in a major way and someone—possibly two someones—are moving to three-tech as soon as they hit campus.

"anywhere near you" "stacks up rather well withyou" You're laughable. Once again proving your total ignorance by lying about what I have said. PLEASE show us a post of mine where I denigrated Michigan's accomplishment before 1950. I DARE YOU.

I dare you to show me one single post of yours in which you don't use ignorant, or a form of it. I dare you.
