Kent State football

FairwoodKingKSU might finally have something to get people excited. The new AD has gone on record to say that he plans to build up the football program. We have a new coach who might just be a winner. I wonder if they are planning to improve the facilities. They should start by tearing down those elector-set stands they put up a few years ago and replacing them with a concrete section like they have on the other side.

bo shemmy3337yea the players say that the workouts are much different and that they are not even aloud to say the word loose. They finally got a good coach and he is doing a good job recruiting so far too IMO.

They can't say the word "loose"? So what do they call the whores that get passed around the locker room? -

rightfieldWhat's the chance of Hitchens #41 getting serious playing time?

FairwoodKingI have been following KSU football since 1966. Most of the teams were terrible. I remember one play in particular: it was fourth down and 48 on the 49 yard line. We made the first down and failed to score. Figure that one out.

VikingWho will be the starting RB?

FairwoodKingI'm sorry that we dropped Purdue to play Alabama. We had an outside chance of beating Purdue, but Alabama is just too tall a mountain to climb. And considering how much we paid to get out of the Purdue contract, I don't think we will make any money on this deal.
Oh, well, I'm optimistic enough to think that with our new coach and AD, in a few years we will be able to beat teams like Alabama. -

lol, of course you are. -
FairwoodKingI knew we would get blown out by Alabama. I still wish we had played Purdue. Maybe we could have given them a decent fight.
What would it take for Kent State to become a football power? Money? More fan support? Better facilities? -

Yes. Talent would go a long way as well.FairwoodKing;884609 wrote:I knew we would get blown out by Alabama. I still wish we had played Purdue. Maybe we could have given them a decent fight.

Little DannyIn all serious FWK, Kent State's best option to being competitive is to move to the FCS level (formerly DI-AA).
I am not saying this as a knock on Kent, but college football is all about big $$$. We might be seeing in the next few weeks some teams of long establish BCS conferences get left in the cold. -

The talent may be on its way. I understand that Kent is going to substantially increase its recruiting budget. Right now KSU spends less on recruiting than any other 1-A school. That alone may fix a big problem.xKoToVxSyNdRoMe;885626 wrote:Yes. Talent would go a long way as well.
