Ohio state to wear Lebron again

Yup it's very simple.
2 subsidiaries of Nike Basketball both have 3 or 4 schools they represent. What ties exactly does Jordan have to Marquette or Georgetown or California? None. It doesn't matter. Nike's going to do what they want, Jordan has his reasons for wanting his gear on those schools, and so does Lebron. -
Y-Town SteelhoundAgain, I see no problem with it on the Nike side. It's the OSU side that I don't understand. Why is OHIO STATE allowing LBJ's logo on their jerseys? There really doesn't seem to be much benefit on their end.
-
Hb31187Why does Georgetown or any of the others schools allow Jordan to be on their jersey? It doesnt benefit them anymore than Nike or Adidas would.
-
lhslep134I think the argument ytown is trying to make is that the Jordan brand is more valuable, thus will sell more, but honestly it doesn't matter because college gear will sell no matter whose logo is on it.

Why not allow his logo on their jerseys? Besides licensing issues, there is no legitimate reason that they shouldn't have his or any other popular player's brand. I mean Lebron is the best player in the word right now. Obviously his brand is not at Jordan's level, but he is likely a solid second so it seems pretty beneficial to me. -

I mean the schools aren't "allowing" anything.
The schools are getting a FORTUNE to wear certain brands. If Russell Athletic offered OSU more than Nike, I GUARANTEE that OSU would switch. -

I know,I agree that its strictly business. Which is exactly why I dont think its a big deal in the least bit -

I agree 100%.
Anyone who has an issue with this needs to get their shit on straight. It's a fucking logo on a pair of shorts. LeBron did NOTHING to OSU or the OSU men's basketball team. -

This is a shambles and I am soooo embarrased of being a Buckeye right now ...Something needs done ..Who the hell is in charge A firing would suffice for this discrace ... We are turning into the garbage of the 80s Miami Hurricans .. What a disapointment
You live in Ohio and cheer for the Steelers, why not worry about what uniforms the Pittsburgh Panthers are going to wear? -
hoops23I have no problem at all with this. It's a brand of uniform, nothing else. In fact, I actually liked the OSU LeBron uni's.

Exactly. Its a non-issue. -
said_aouitaHopefully the next mission of Seal team 6 is taking out Phil Knight.

I'm looking at it differently then just business. Nike pays how much a year for all these schools to wear their logo?Hb31187;831244 wrote:I know,I agree that its strictly business. Which is exactly why I dont think its a big deal in the least bit
Funny...Michigan use to be a Nike team, until they started sucking so much.
I'm not a fan of Nike and their "business strategy". I believe Phil Knight owes Oregon and it's wrestling team. No reason Oregon should be with out a team because of financial reasons......hello, Phil? Phil Knight, founder of Nike is a former varsity athlete for the Ducks. I'd think being a former varsity athlete he'd feel a responsibility to support all sports at Oregon, not just those who contribute to the profit margin.
How many effing different combinations of Nike Uniforms did Oregon football have....like 20 or 30? -
Hb31187Theres a simple reason that Nike doesnt support the Wrestling team. Nobody cares about college wrestling, and College football is big business

No, I don't call myself a Cleveland fan, I AM a Cleveland fan.
It's stupid as hell to hold a grudge because an athlete left. It happens everywhere. I was a Cavs fan, not a LeBron fan. Once LBJ left, my rooting interest for him did as well, however, I'm not going to be naive to the fact that he does have a brand and he is a supporter of OSU. -
TiernanA supporter of OSU!?!? That idiot couldn't find OSU on a map of Franklin County with a red circle around it. He pissed on your Cavs pal and took a dump on your town. Naive or not you gotta hate this SOB the rest of your born days to really be considered a "Cleveland Fan".

More to life than sports, more things to worry about than an athlete leaving my team.
Sorry.
