reclegend22Do you really think of yourself as a ninja turtle? Honest question.
As for the game, it'll be a good one. Two heavyweights in the Garden, and a rematch of the old Calhoun-Calipari rivalry, which dates back to John's time at Massachusetts. It doesn't get much better than that. Like the Duke-UConn game, I expect this game to have an NCAA feel to it. The Huskies, like Duke, always bring a ton of fans to Madison as many of the school's graduates reside in the New York metro area. But Kentucky's Blue Mist will be everywhere. Best traveling base in basketball.
It should be a fun game. I'll take Connecticut in a rebound win after a poor showing against Duke, whose stout defense dashed their hopes at a Season Tip-Off championship. Jim Calhoun, as he often does, gets it done in Manhattan. -
cviewThis should be a good game. I don't think UCONN is as poor as they looked against a good Duke team and I don't think Kentucky is quite as good as they looked in blitzing UNC in the first half. UNC is just an awful team on the road right now. I'll take Kentucky in a close game.
-
ironman02UConn continued to struggle the other night with a fairly close game against Harvard. I'm sure they'll step up the intensity against UK, but I really think the Cats will be too much for them. I'll take Kentucky by 7-10 points, with John Wall being the difference maker. Man, that guy is gonna be unstoppable by the end of the season.
-
cviewThey said it 100 times if they said it once in the UK/UNC game, but it's absolutely game over when Wall gets you on your heels (no pun intended). When he is going downhill it's just unfair. He reminds me of Ty Lawson in that when the ball is in his hands it looks like everyone else is standing flat footed; especially when it is off a defensive rebound or a live ball turnover. But he's got a bigger frame than Lawson. Mike Conley and Derrick Rose are the best freshman PGs I've seen and Wall is way ahead of where those two were.
-
GOONx19I'll take Kentucky by 8 as long as John Wall is at full strength. Word on campus is that it wasn't just cramps against UNC. He definitely had a knee brace on when he came back in the second half, and a couple people he had class with told me he was limping around quite a bit on Monday.
On the other hand, not that it matters, but it's Eric Bledsoe's birthday today. I, for one, can say that I had great games for all of my birthday's in high school. He should have an extra burst of energy tonight. -
reclegend22Can't wait for tip-off. Should be a packed house and thrilling environment.
-
davehoping for a 6 OT game

Trueblue23Date = FAIL

Trueblue2310 minutes until tip-off
-
Trueblue23Calhoun takes a timeout 33 seconds into the ball game..
Kentucky could be SCARY good come tourney time. -
Laley23I hope UK wins BIG and has a let down as a young team when they travel to Bloomington this Saturday!
-
Trueblue23Wall is VERY quick
-
Trueblue23WOW
Wall just made someone a POSTER on the alley oop..
then he stole the ball
holy shit -
Trueblue23Kentucky up 10-0
-
GOONx19And it's a 2 point game. Good run by UConn with Wall out.
-
Trueblue23Now all tied up..
Major props to UConn after falling behind 10-0. -
Trueblue23Wall gets a ton of cred, rightfully so, but DeMarcus Cousins is a BEAST
-
Trueblue23Kentucky struggles in a half court set
-
GOONx19Big time foul trouble coming for UK. Connecticut could run away with this one.
-
Trueblue23Very poor fast break by Bledsoe..
You're the point guard with a 3 on 1 fast break, pass the ball man. -
GOONx19These next three minutes are gonna be huge in deciding the outcome. 27-21 now.
-
reclegend22Glad this wasn't a Duke game. I would have been pulling my hair out right before half -- literally.
