dwccrewI see him being the first QB taken in this draft. If he isn't, I'd be surprised, not shocked though.
-
SQ_CraziesI wouldn't be surprised if he isn't the first QB taken--Brady Quinn isn't going to help his draft stock, like it or not, they will consider that. But he'll still be a top 10-15 pick. I wouldn't be surprised if he went anywhere from about 1-15. I think he could be pretty good in the pros.
-
rocket31projected as #4 overall pick currently...
kiper has him ahead of bradford in the race for the top QB drafted. -
thedynasty1998Definitely one of the top QB's, however I don't know if he will be the first. Although I do think he's the best.
No brainer on his end. He won't improve his stock and he's without a coach. I think it makes Tate's decision a no brainer now as well. -

You can't be serious? BQ's play in the NFL will have ZERO impact on where Clausen is taken. Then you have reports that Weis has been contacted by several NFL teams to run their offense, the guy that schooled Clausen. I'm not buying it.SQ_Crazies wrote:Brady Quinn isn't going to help his draft stock, like it or not, they will consider that
BTW, Peyton Manning would struggle under center if he played for the Browns. -
Mr PatYou really think he'll go in the second round?
-
elbuckeye28I really don't think Brady Quinn has any influence on Clausen's draft status. Did Matt Leinart affect the status of Mark Sanchez? Point is they are 2 different qbs so they should be evaluated as such.

Care to place a wager? You talk alot of shit, so this should be a no brainer.ccrunner609 wrote:

Benny The JetProbably a top 10-15 pick. Nothing against him, but does anyone else think he throws a horrible deep ball? He completes them yes, but it just seems like he throws it a mile up in the air and hopes that Golden and Floyd's athleticism take over and they'll grab it, not much trajectory or touch on them.

j_crazydon't expect many Jr's who have a shot in the pros coming back to school. (from what I understand) Next year there will probably be some sort of rookie contract structuring so the money will be better if kids come out now.
-
devil1197There are some teams that will need #1 QB's going into next season. Cleveland will have the #1 pick imo but they won't select a QB.
St. Louis and Washington will have high picks that both need franchise QB's. Tampa Bay selected Freeman last year but they may opt to go with a different QB in this draft if they feel differently.
It all depends on what the team needs are. -
sleeperWasn't Brady Quinn projected as a top 5 pick too?
I doubt he goes top 5, the guy can barely make a bowl game and beat hapless Hawaii and NFL teams expect him to come in and be a franchise QB? Joke. -
Nate
Because a QB plays the other 21 starting positions also right?sleeper wrote: Wasn't Brady Quinn projected as a top 5 pick too?

No, but he won't in the NFL either. He plays QB and can't get it done at the college level at his position, so what makes you think he'll even be moderately successful at a higher level?Keebler wrote:

the only QB I can see going ahead of him would be Locker, but it's a crapshoot between the two of them IMOthedynasty1998 wrote: Definitely one of the top QB's, however I don't know if he will be the first. Although I do think he's the best.

his deep ball is his best throw...Benny The Jet wrote: Probably a top 10-15 pick. Nothing against him, but does anyone else think he throws a horrible deep ball? what in the world are you talking about???

? One of if not the best throw Clausen has is his deep ball.Benny The Jet wrote: Probably a top 10-15 pick. Nothing against him, but does anyone else think he throws a horrible deep ball? Benny The JetHe throws it up a mile high and hopes his amazing WR's come down with it, how many times did you see Golden of Floyd have to come back to it, stop and out jump the guy. That whole stanford game, Golden did it all game on deep balls. He just throws it up deep, so they go get it.

SQ_CraziesThe BQ affect will definitely be considered. Like I said, whether you like it or not. These guys are trying to pick franchise players in the first round--they analyze everything.
I agree to a point about Clausen's deep ball--it's one of his best throws, but you can't only read half of that guys post. He has a point, Floyd and Tate have bailed him out of a lot of poor throws--they should both be 1st rounders (actually I think Floyd is better which isn't that popular). But his deep ball is still better than BQ's, in fact I think he's pretty much better all around. But while we're talking about the Browns, Derek Anderson throws a great deep ball too--think about how most of you feel about him.
He's going to be a first rounder, but don't be surprised if he falls a bit like Quinn did. I know I wouldn't take him in the top 3 QB's if I was drafting but I think he will go that high anyways. Then again, I wouldn't take Locker or Tebow in the first round either but they both will go. -
