    Ok, banking it.

    I'll take this bet.

In what sport? Even if he posted this in football, knowing him they'll win it in some ***** male gymnastic competition and he'll claim victory.

Loss of 6 Defensive starters and probable starting a Frosh QB...history tells us this is not the recipe for a CFB NC. But when you look at it more in depth many of the defensive players that will be filling starting roles played quite a bit last year and the schedule sets up nice for a young QB to learn some valuable lessons prior to the really tough opponents. And mark my words the intensity Luke Fickell will bring to the sidelines and overall team mentality will be a welcome relief from the corporate (I've even called it pansy) demeanor usually displayed by the former HC. I don't know anout a NC sleeper...but I think all the OSU haters out there are gonna be in for a big F'kn surprise from this team when the smoke clears come January.

they won't be allowed to compete for it this year - so it aint happening. That said, I don't think we're going to be as bad as people think.

I think 9 regular season wins is the over/under benchmark for this team this year. Looking at their schedule they should win nine games, however, they could win more, and, especially with a lot of younger players, they could not respond well after a loss and lose again, or have a game with a lot of mistakes that you can't recover from (think Purdue '09), and lose more than three games. I think nine wins is a realistic expectation for this team this year.

    3 losses...max.

Not with a freshman QB they won't -- even if they escape sanctions and are allowed to compete for it.

If they win 9 games, the season will have been a resounding success (assuming another win over TTUN).

I'll be expecting a record more in the area of 7 to 8 wins, assuming the D stays healthy and plays as well as I think they can. On offense, OSU is going to be one dimensional for a while as Miller gets up to speed with his passing. Timely runs by Miller will help offset teams packing the box, and give OSU an added weapon. The special teams are really an unknown at this point, which also leads me to a lower win total.

Just curious . . . are "they" and "we" the same group of people?

Also, sleeper, should I "book it" or "bank it"? Or both?

I think it will either be a 0-1 loss season or a 4-5 loss season with nothing in between. If they embrace the "us against the world" thing, they could be very dangerous. If they let the distractions get to them they will lose a couple inexplicable games as well as the tough ones.

Mike Vick took his team to a national championship game as a freshman. So you never know. Of course a lot of this depends if the Bucks will even be eligible to play in a bowl game.
