lacknett....Don't get me wrong, I agree we need a playoff. But when people are going to whine and bitch and moan about why Texas is in the National Championship over TCU and Cincy, the schedule is the reason why. The three look very similar in many categories, but TCU and Cincy proponents are claiming that they played a tougher schedule than Texas. The only way of comparing apples to apples is to look at the opponents' win percentage. There's no other way of doing it. Granted this system is garbage, but we have to make due with what we are given. And when given a hoax of a system, the voters have to look at what differentiates those 3 schools on paper. In my opinion, I feel like that decision was based on the opponents' win percentage and probably the prejudice the system has toward the Big 12 and it being "a better conference." There's been a ton of complaining this year and rightfully so, but who knows what it will take for the system to change. Unless enough viewers become so upset and lose interest, thus quit watching the game, nothing will be done. People can complain all they want, but I don't see things changing. There's nothing that just one person can do to change what's happening in college football. Instead of wasting my time complaining, I prefer to find substance and logic behind their thinking and try to see where the undefeateds can be differentiated. Opponents' win percentage is the only area these teams differ on paper. Is it fair to judge them based solely on this aspect? Hell no, but what else are we supposed to do when college football is denied fairness because the powers to be are so wrapped up in money instead of looking out for college kids? Let me stress "college kids." This is something I would expect to see in professional sports, not college football. It's really starting to make me a bigger fan of the NFL just because it's fair.
