Nothing changes. Did you not see that the letter was dated December 2010? This was already reported to the NCAA before the punishments were handed down.KnightRyder;753815 wrote:seems some one got a suv. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2011/04/28/0428-new-ncaa-information.html
See the other thread about this -

ESPN and the like published this part of it as a separate story today to keep the story alive. -

This already got going on another thread, but I'm not sure it makes it any worse (maybe you have a completely different article). The NCAA knew about the SUV, among other things, prior to handing out the punishments previously. Apparently, the SUV wasn't an issue.
Would that mean it was a former player and not a current player? Or is it perhaps that trading an SUV for Rose Bowl tickets is considered a reasonable transaction? -
karen lotzI'd think it would have to be a former player but how would that work? Do former players get 4 passes to bowl games? I wouldn't think so.

It could have been a senior? The guys who were suspended all had eligibility remaining. Would've thought if that were the case, though, whoever it was would've been suspended for the bowl game? Could it have been that the Rose Bowl tickets weren't freebies to begin with...making it a legitimate trade? Or is there no rule against selling your bowl tickets? Nothing really seems to make sense, but obviously there's something that we're missing. -

If they were a senior for the 2010 rose bowl..... -

Yeah, duh. Pretty obvious answer there, I guess. -
karen lotzNot that it matters, but if it were a senior for the Rose Bowl and he traded a car for the tickets, wouldn't he be ruled ineligible for the Rose Bowl after the fact? Couldn't the Rose Bowl win be vacated?

Big Gain
From dumb to dumber. So dumb can't read dates. The investigation and punishment for the athletes were completed in December. The leaks are dribbling out a little at a time now so the haters can cum in their pants over and over again.KnightRyder;753815 wrote:seems some one got a suv. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2011/04/28/0428-new-ncaa-information.html -
Tobias FünkeDorian Bell suspended for the entire 2011 season probably makes it worse too.
