    Looks like a good pickup.

I wonder if Herbstreit approves of his character.

Weird to see a commitment right now, given the recent news about OSU and Tressel.

Typically you would see some around/after the Spring game. I think you would have seen guys like Tom Strobel and a couple other commit if things were normal.

Epitropoulos: OSU is 'best football program in the country'
    By TIM MAY
Frank Epitropoulos proved this morning that Ohio State is still alive and well in the recruiting world, even as the specter of NCAA sanctions cloud head coach Jim Tressel.

A wide receiver and punter from Upper Arlington, Epitropoulos – his father John and uncle Ernie played for the Buckeyes – said he committed to OSU, becoming the sixth member of the 2012 recruiting class.

“I chose OSU because I believe that is the best football program in the country with a great coaching staff,” Frank Epitropoulos texted to The Dispatch. “I feel like I can help them at wide receiver and occasionally punting.”

At 6 feet 3, 195 pounds, he is adept at both. He is considered an outstanding overall athlete by rivals.com which says, among other things, he has been timed at 4.47 seconds in the 40-yard dash (he runs track for UA, and will be competing today) and has a 41-inch vertical leap.

“He is one of the top 15 prospects in Ohio,” said veteran recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic of billkurelicrecruiting.com. “This gives Ohio State really two players in one, because he is an outstanding receiver and one of the top punters in the state.”

His dad John and uncle Ernie both played for Warren Harding and then Ohio State. I'm told he was an OSU fan his whole life and that the timing of his verbal was to show support for Tressel.

His offer list is a bit weak for how good he is, but I'm assuming that's because everyone knew he was heading to Ohio State.

6'3 and 4.5 is definitely usable.

Offers from 3 teams, all were in a BCS game last year...yeah that's weak, if only ND would have offered him it would make him look a lot better!

I think he meant weak in the sense that he only had three official offers, not in who they were from.

    Miss, please calm down.

Not sure where people are getting he only had 3 offers from.

    OSU
    Duke
    Kent State
    Louisville
    Miami OH
    Purdue
    Stanford
    Syracuse
    Toledo
    West Virginia
    Wisconsin

Which is why I was SMH at S&L. He has a pretty weak offer list if you look at the whole thing, not just 3 teams.

West Virginia, Ohio State, Louisville, Purdue, Stanford, Wisconsin....how is that a weak offer list? Am I missing something here?

It's not a weak list. Not missing anything.
  • vball10set
^^^I tend to agree, karen--I know it's not what you said, but just because an SEC or PAC10 team isn't on here doesn't make it weak

I agree--IMO just because you don't see an SEC team on here doesn't mean that it's weak

    reason for edit: dumbass mistake
