Your Heisman ballot after 12/5?

HuskersMy list & yes I'm bias
1.Ingram
2.Suh
3.Gerhart
4.McCoy
5.Spiller -
devil1197Ingram or Gerhart, it really wouldn't matter to me.
Although I was highly impressed with Ingram after coming off that tough game against Auburn. He made big plays in the running and passing game.
Lasting impressions make a huge impact on the Heisman. McCoy was terrible against a great defense, Spiller was great against GT, Ingram was great against the #1 or #2 defense in the nation (have heard different rankings), and Gerhart rolled over a crappy ND defense. -
Cleveland BuckSuh has been a stud all year, but he was a wild animal yesterday. That was the best individual performance in the country this season and he should at least get an invite.
-
buckeyes_woowee1. Suh
2. Ingram
3. Gerhart
4. Spiller
5. McCoy -
golfman61If Suh does not get invited to the Heisman as a finalist it will be a crime.
-
Huskers^^^^^Amen!!!!!
-
jpake1Gerhart
Ingram
Moore
Spiller
Suh -
ytownfootballI can't belive so many here have discounted players based on YESTERDAYS perfomance, it's a season long award not "what did you do in the last game" award. But, unfortunately that's probably how the voting will go.
Based on the season I would have to go...
1.McCoy
2.Gerhart
3.Ingram
4.Spiller
5.Tebow
Suh really deserves mention but the award isn't geared to defensive player, though he's deserving of a top 3 selection. -
jpake1I don't understand how somebody can honestly think McCoy had a better season than Gerhart. He was VERY average the first few games, then heated up, then looked like hell last night. If there is any QB that should get mention it's Moore. But that's just my opinion, and you have yours.
-
ytownfootballI have to admit that a lot of my opinion is based on the fact that he could/should have won it last season. He came back for a senior season, passing up the cash and picked up right where he left off, He didn't do anything to hurt his draft status which happens a lot, see Bradford. He came back for the love of the game and produced, Tebow did too but didn't produce as well as he could have or did in the past.
I love Gerhart and think any other time he would be my choice, just not this season. -
LJ#1. Ingram
#2. Gerhart
#3. Spiller
#4. McCoy
#5. Suh -

Um, none of that should come into consideration for the seasons BEST player.ytownfootball wrote: I have to admit that a lot of my opinion is based on the fact that he could/should have won it last season. ytownfootballMcCoy didn't put up Heisman numbers this year? Huh...I thought he did.
Just like what happened on 12/5 shouldn't be the basis of a decision, nor should what I posed be the "basis" of a decision. But I bet the voters will think about it as I do.
just sayin' -
jpake1Well I'm glad you aren't a voter. None of that should matter this year. But to each their own.

He didn't make the impact that Gerhart or Ingram did on their teams. If I based my standings on just the 2 games I saw of Suh, he would probably be 1 or 2 because Nebraska would have been absolutely nothing without Suh.ytownfootball wrote: McCoy didn't put up Heisman numbers this year? Plus, I don't see how coming back your senior year makes you a better player than the others mentioned? That goes against what the Heisman trophy is supposed to be, awarded to the season's most outstanding player. -
LJActually, after looking at player stats, I want to redo my list.
#1. Gerhart

None of that matters in this year's Heisman race. 184 yd and 3 INTs in the biggest game of the season isn't Heisman material. Picked up right where he left off?? rriiigghhtt...ytownfootball wrote: I have to admit that a lot of my opinion is based on the fact that he could/should have won it last season. McCoy was easily better last year.
2008- 332/443 Rating: 173.75 77.6% 3859 yds 34 TD 8 INT McCoy ran for 561 yds and 11 TDs
2009- 330/468 Rating: 147.50 70.5% 3512 yds 27 TD 12 INT McCoy ran for 348 yds and 3 TDs
CLEARLY better last year.
Bradford and Clausen will still get drafted ahead of McCoy. -
jpake1I did that as well. I had Ingram #1, but after I checked stats out, I have to give it to Gerhart. He benefits by having awesome stats in a year that anybody that was a leading candidate did everything in their power to not win it. I usually don't just go with the guy with the best stats, but when nobody jumps out at you, I have to go with the white bruiser.

He led his team to the title game, no impact? C'mon you're better than that.LJ wrote:

I agree with Suh, but how can you then say " That goes against what the Heisman trophy is supposed to be, awarded to the season's most outstanding player." and not put him first? Last night I saw him for an entire game (the first time all season) and I bet many voters did too. Same with Gerhart, no one even heard of him (you know what I mean) until he played ND on national TV.
Honestly, I don't remember too many years where the field seemed as wide open as it appears to be this season.
Just wondering, did you happen to see the scrawl at the bottom of the screen the last few days regarding the Heisman? Tebow was first, then I don't, recall the others but ended with Tate from ND...the the disclimer that said it was a computer based model that used historical voting and individual and TEAM stats...what the hell was that all about? It just illustrates my point that things are wide open if ESPN is reaching that hard to pump Tebow that they use some obscure computer program to project leaders for the award and then pump their boy. -

I only saw him play once, but after looking at stats, I have to give my "vote" to Gerhart.jpake1 wrote: I did that as well. Trueblue23If Tebow is higher than 4th the Heisman will be even more of a joke.

If this is your reasoning I suggest you maybe take a look at Case Keenumjpake1 wrote: I did that as well. I had Ingram #1, but after I checked stats out, I have to give it to Gerhart. 5,449 yards passing...43 touchdowns...passer rating of 159.28, 9 picks in 659 attempts, and a completion rate of 71%...
kinda jumps out don't it? Those are the sickest stats out there right? -

Only 1 person has more YPG rushing than Gerhart, and his total yards are lower
Nobody has more rushing TD's than Gerhart -
OneBuckeyeGerhart was a factor in all of his games... never faded against anyone. Helped Stanford roll against USC and Oregon had 100+ yard games in both. Everyone knew what Stanford was going to do and they couldn't stop it. He deserves it hands down. Ingram in no way should be above him.
-
OneBuckeyeHe had over 200 yards and 3 tds against Oregon... the PAC tens best run D and 173 and 3 TDs against USC.
