Women's National Championship- ND vs. TAMU

  • athlete37
This should be a very fun game to watch-- the last cople ND games have been very entertaining. These two took out both one seeds on their respective side of the bracket (ND with Tenn and UConn... Texas A&M with Baylor and then Stanford). Normally not into women's basketball- but this year's games have been exciting.

Hot damn, a new National Champion. BTW, I'm well aware of ND's recent title, but that was 10 years ago.

Wait, i thought the ladies game was last night?

    TAMU for the win

I think as athlete37 said, this year has been really good for the sport in general. A few people on ESPN were talking about it last night, and when's the last time you can remember Uconn and Stanford not being in the title game? As ESPN said, it shows that there finally might be more depth and competition developing in the women's game, which is of course, the main reason that makes the men's tournament so exciting. I think the more years like this that the women's game has, the better it will be for getting people "not normally into women's basketball" to watch for the reason that games will be more entertaining. It's always good to have dominant program just like on the men's side (KU, Uconn, NC and Duke etc) but you have to have teams capable of beating those teams as well. Seems like this year we're finally seeing that might become more and more of a possibility.

Looks like Notre Dame will get blown out in this relevant game too. Although, the win over UCONN could be the school's greatest win in 20+ years, in any sport.

They beat #1 seeded Connecticut in the 2001 Final Four, en route to a national title.

BTW, the Irish are up 5...

Don't pay any attention to sleeper when he is discussing Notre Dame.

Why not? It's pretty sad that Notre Dame's women's basketball team is the best sport at the school. It's women's basketball, not even the women care.

I'm not into women's basketball, but it seems to me it is either UCONN, Tennessee or Stanford every year, mixed in with a Duke or Georgia after that. After that, it takes a tremendous dive in depth. Some of the teams out there even in power six conferences couldn't beat my son's 5th grade basketball team.

Texas A&M is your national champion

Didn't watch all of it but it was a pretty good game. Adams is a god damned beast and might need to mix in a salad or two in the offseason.

    Louis Nix is a clown.

From a CFB thread from a ways back.

ND 6 wins or less, a thread must be created by an ND fan on this forum with the title "ND is terrible, sleeper is right"
The text of the thread must be "Bring back Weis, at least he gave us a "close loss" to USC"

ND 7 wins or more, I will never post on any thread with Notre Dame in the title.

    Any takers?
ND is in this title (and not placed there by me to fuck with anyone). A person with the superior education one claims to have would know to specify a particular sport if they planned to post in threads about other ND teams besides the football one.

    Whoops!

And thirdly, ND is in the title, not "Notre Dame"

    LOL fail.

But honestly, great win for Texas A&M, even if it was over the best sports team for the Irish, which isn't saying much at all.
  • krambman
There were more points scored by halftime of the women's game than in the entire men's game on Monday night. Who says women's basketball is slow and boring?

You realize that ND has 2 National Championship teams this school year so far (and one within the past 10 days), a hockey team in the frozen four this weekend, and an undefeated lacrosse team ranked number 2? Might wanna double check your shit next time... Also, number 1 business school in the country for the second straight year (see Eddie DeBartolo and other great sportsmen coming from the Mendoza School of Business)

Cite? We need to get those people some mental help. :)

Seriously, there is a substantial drop-off after the top six b-schools, and no offense, but Notre Dame is not one of the six.

Sadly if someone told me I had to watch either the mens or womens national championship game again I'd choose the womens. It was great to see Texas A&M get the win last night congrats to them.
