Gold Pants Sold on Pawn Stars

    In last night's episode of Pawn Stars two pairs of gold pants were sold for $2000.00. One pair was from 2002 and had the initials LB on them. The other pair was from 2008 and had DW initialed on them.Doug Worthington was named as the owner of the 2008 pants.

    I guess the fans value these things more than the players do.

    UPDATE: Doug Worthington was just interviewed on 97.1 the fan and claimed all of his gold pants are accounted for.

    "Anyone watch Pawn Stars on the History Channel? Some guy brought in a couple pair of gold pants. He said he got them a couple years ago. One had a DW on it and the guy said they belonged to Doug Worthington. They were pants from the 2008 win. The other pair was from the 2002 win and had initials LB....he said he did not know who that was but thought it was something Boone. There was a Leandre Boone on that team. The shop owner paid $2K total for both of them.

    Anyhow....thought it was interesting. If the NCAA is really digging and asking around and talking to players, they may dig up even more stuff. Because it appears many of these kids have been doing this."

    The 2007 ones are Doug Worthington from what I've seen posted. And I've got no clue who LeAndre Boone is.

    Doug Worthington reportedly said on his facebook that they are not his... but they are either his or Donald Washingtons.

    so? too bad for them. I, nor you, are recruiting guys. Many of them fall on "hard times" and need the money. When they have multiples of this stuff and they are broke, sometimes it's easier to let go of things.

    Or if the pants are from 2002 and 2007 then the players have multiple of them. Not saying it's right, but if I could get $1000 for something I have multiple of, I'd certainly consider it.

    Tragic as it may seem, if they didn't grow up OSU fans, or were from another state...this doesn't surprise me a bit. On top of that, we don't know if they came directly from an OSU player. Maybe that player passed them onto a family member, mom, brother or sister who decided to sell them. Who knows and we'll never know. I dislike it as much as you do..but the reality is....some of these guys just don't value certain things like many do. Especially when they are younger....

    Probably doesn't mean anything, but the guy who was on Pawn Stars said he got them from a private collector and both Washington and Worthington are friends with Ed Rife.

    Tragic is a child with cancer or a family being killed in a house fire. To characterize not giving a shit about some trinkets passed out for winning a game as such is in bad taste and/or shows an incredible level of immaturity.

    I think they should just rename them gold charm pendants because that is what they really are.
