Pac 10/12 to play football on Sundays

  I like that alot. I'm not big on any Pac-10 school...but as long as there is football to watch on Sunday, I'm great with this!

  Only links I'm seeing are saying they MAY, but are the ones most strongly considering it. I think it's a good idea.

  One thing about the Pac-10/12's new commissioner is that he is not afraid to rock the boat and do something different when he feels it will help the conference.

  I think it will be very smart for (at least the major conferences) to play some of their games on Sundays this fall if the NFL is still locked out. I also think it would be a good idea for ESPN to select one game each week to replace Monday Night Football too.

  I'd rather some of the smaller conferences get some publicity. The MAC, Sun-Belt, WAC, MWC, and Conference USA should get Sundays.

  The NFL may discover people just want football. Not necessarily NFL football. This could be good.

  I had the same thought for about a second, then I realized that these conference already play games on every other day of the week to increase their visibility. The casual college football fan doesn't want to watch those conferences, and NFL fans (that aren't also college football fans) really don't care. You'll get a lot more people watching if you have featured teams playing on Sundays. Besides, it will open up a lot of Saturday time slots for the mid-majors to receive more coverage.

  I think a lot of teams would be against this. Nobody would want to play on Monday, and then have a quick turn around and have to play again on Saturday.

  Brilliant strategy. That can allow potentially ESPN to broadcast national games on Sundays. Since most people on the East don't get to see the West coast, I'm all for it. Pac 12 football is very fun to watch and are usually great games.

  They would probably have to do it with schools who have bye weeks the next weekend, much like they do with Thursday night games. Both of those teams have a short week leading up to the game, and a long week before the next. This would just be the opposite.

  Will get them in front of people who would normally not catch their 4 a.m. kickoffs on Fox Sports Net 11 Pacific HD.

  But they will not be kicking off at 1PM, it would be a 4PM kickoff.
  
  I want Sunday 1PM kickoffs, hopefully EST conferences will also follow suit.

  I think what he was saying (with some hyperbole) is that Pac 10 games often start so late (an 8pm kickoff on the west coast means the game doesn't start until 11pm in the east) that's a late night if you want to stay up until 2:30am to see the end of those games.
