Kids prob gonna be the #1 pick. I would love to see him in a Cavs uniform, I think the kid has a chance to be an all-star -
wildcats20Good.
Oh but Coach K doesn't recruit one and dones..... -

He was technically a .25 and done. -
mallymal614I think Austin Rivers will replace Irving quite well. I am sold on the Doc's son.

ironman02What a great day. Zeller and Henson returning to Chapel Hill and Irving getting the hell out of Durham.
Just one more piece of the puzzle left... -

I saw that little blurb in the ESPN poll and instantly was 100% happier. Now that they are both back, I really think Harrison says he's coming back. -

Careful. Don't let S&L see that. There's no way that Barnes is coming back. -

Believe me I am more pissed at K than Kyrie. Don't want Duke to go down this road. Not sure why he is now. -

Because it's tough to win without them. -

Chill out. Just stating facts. And no matter how you want to spin it, how many guys make the effort to travel to Vegas to do what Selby is doing? I honestly don't know..but I sure haven't heard of that many. There is nothing wrong with what he is doing. I just get the feel that if he gets any positive feed back...he is gone. Sorry, but when I watched Selby play this year, he just looked very disinterested at times. Maybe cause of what you said above about Kansas being more of an inside team. Who knows. I just got the sense that if Selby could have gone from HS to the pros..he would have done so. If I had to bet money, if he gets any positive feedback..he is gone. I could be wrong. Just my two cents.SportsAndLady;734600 wrote:You're right my bad, it was more than one day...so far it's been two lol
Don't kid myself? What's the difference between the dozens of players every year who enter the draft, don't hire an agent, and then pull out soon as they know their draft position? Does it really hurt to go work out with pro coaches and improve your game, then decide to come back to school? It happens every year, why is it that when Selby does it, it means he wants to just bail and go pro?
I also believe Barnes is gone as well as Jones from UK. I would bet on Knight from UK going pro as well. -

It isnt Ks fault. He didnt recruit Irving to be 1 and done. Just ask CC, K doesnt recruit 1 and dones....its only if they excel enough at Duke, to be one and dones, that they become such.
If that post was confusing...good. It fits right along CCs logic on K and his recruiting. -

Id personally encourage all my players to do it, if they are going pro after their SO years, which I assume Selby is. Why not use the ability to talk to pros and scouts to improve your game without penalty?centralbucksfan;734998 wrote:Chill out. Just stating facts. It may not be what Selbys rational is, but if he plans to go pro next year...this is the same thing a JR should be doing before their final year. -

swamisezI agree with CC in this regard, Coach K doesn't recruit one and done players. He tells them from day one, you are enrolling at Duke University to become a student at a great university and you are going to play basketball. If you choose to take full advantage of the opportunity to graduate you will be better for it. If you are lucky enough to move along before your time at Duke is over, you will miss out on a great education and a great opportunity to become a more well rounded individual.
(K told coaches at his clinic last summer this same thing when they asked him about whether he would recruit a one and done player)
Sure many project players as a sure fire lottery pick (Mullens, Koufus, Cook), but there are few coaches who honestly walk up to a player and say I want you for one year before you go to the league. If they say that they must not be as committed to the university as they should be.
Also, in regards to the comment "It is hard to win without them."
Duke managed to win a title last year, 3 senior starters 2 Juniors. No one and one players. UConn may have done the same this year, but that remains to be seen. -

I got a chance to talk to DeAndre Liggins today, and he said he thinks Knight's gonna come back one more year. I know this kind of thing never means anything, but apparently Knight will be able to graduate next year if he comes back. He had like 30 hours coming into school and had a loaded schedule in the fall semester. Liggins also said he would think about going pro this year because he's got to start looking out for his kid (his girlfriend had a son the first week of February), but he's not sure because he doesn't think he's ready to leave Lexington yet.
