Lon Kruger headed to Oklahoma (formerly thread re: Bruce Weber)

Oklahoma has fallen off the cliff in terms on b-ball. They used to be contenders year in year out.

They were contenders year in and year out because their coach was breaking ever possible recruiting rule that exists. Which is also why said coach is not unemployable.

If this is true and if the Painter to Mizzou thing ends up happening that would mean that the Big XII will have three basketball coaches they poached from the Big Ten.

Not sure what cave your living in, but Painter just signed an 8yr extension with Purdue, turning down Mizzou. And I dont' believe Ill fans would be too unhappy if Weber leaves.

Sorry I missed some news that basically came out this morning. The thread on here still says Painter to Mizzou in the title, and none of the twitter guys who reported he was leaving decided to report that he's staying instead.

I think the Illini fans would help Weber load his van and pay for his gas to get out of town.

I also heard a rumor that Rich Rod was seen on Oklahoma's campus wearing Sooner gear. If it's true or not, I've no idea - but interesting to say the least.

    +1

If they're not, they should be

Well this isnt happening....Big 12 continues to strike out on coaches (not that Painter was ever really interested in Mizzou..just used them to get more $$$ from PU). KU will continue to roll this conference until they bring in some more quality coaches. K State was able to beat KU when they had Huggy Bear, a good coach. I'm telling you guys..KU is overseeded almost every year because of how shitty the big 12 is...hence, upsets.

Come on..anyone with an ounce of sense who watches college basketball, KNOWS that Kansas has TALENT year in , and year out. Top 5 to 10 talent, at WORSE. They are NOT overseeded. Now maybe the lack of competiition leads to some upsets. But I don't buy into that that much in basketball. Its about matchups in the NCAA, its about one team getting hot, the other being off. So many variables in basketball on any given nite. That is what i love about the game. Sorry, but your going completely overboard about this KU overseeding stuff.
