I basically said nothing of the kind. I have no idea how Turner's rehab will go. However, it's a known fact that after serious broken bones of any kind, ACL surgeries, etal. Even after the physical injures have healed, there is a period where the "mental" part of running, jumping and cutting full throttle takes longer to get back to doing those things without thinking.

I'm speaking from actual knowledge. I broke my tibia playing football early in the season. After the cast came off and I rebuilt muscle tissue, I was cleared to play basketball. It took a couple of weeks to have the confidence to shoot a simple right hand lay up naturally with out thinking. My take off leg was the leg broken. I was afraid.

Later in life I was in a serious car wreck. I almost had my left leg ripped off. My Femur was slit in half from the top down, my hip dislocated and my pelvis was broken in two places. I spent 2 months in the hospital. I spent a lot of time with a psychiatrist in the hospital talking about the mental aspects of the car wreck. I didn't understand why until I left the hospital. For a couple of weeks I was scared to death to ride in a car, even though I couldn't remember anything about the wreck, nor anything for 3 days preceding the wreck or three days after the wreck. A whole week was gone. Yet the psychological fear was real.

And what you fail to understand, is that this injury is NOT as serious as any of those above. Turner was released and back to the Schott before the game was even over. At worst, he may have to wear a lower brace around his back for a short period of time. We are talking about very small fractures in two of his vertibre. He doesn't have a "broken back", thats an exaggeration. There is no report of any other injuries from this. Turner will probably be riding a stationary bike with in a couple/three weeks and able to shoot not long after that.

Man - a friend of mine just told me about this site and am I glad (JJHuddle is a ghost town)......good to see some of the old posters on here.....

I think Turner will play inside of 8 weeks....and I believe he will be off to the league after this year. Would I want him to stay, yes and lace them up with Big Sully coming in....

Chad Ford knows more about this than you do:

    JKL (Boston, MA)

How far will Turner slip because of his injury? Or is it too early to speculate?

Depends on when he returns. Ohio State is saying two months. That brings him back in mid February. If he's totally healthy by then ... his stock could rebound. But more likely it's taken a hit. Backs are scary for NBA GMs. The game is hard on them. So many risk adverse GMs (see DeJuan Blair) are going to shy away. We dropped him from No. 3 to No. 10 on our Big Board. Could slip further. Too bad, he was the best player in college basketball before he broke his back.

DeJuan Blair also has no ACL left in BOTH KNEES. Had surgery on both, Turner was out of the hospital the same day.

DraftExpress: "We did our background research, its a very mild injury. We've seen him enough to know how talented he is.I hope he falls, but it wont happen"

DraftExpress: Asked a few other NBA guys on the way out of MSG about Evan Turner's injury and draft stock. No one seems to even remotely think its an issue

LOL at all of you who think his stock will drop....Personally I hope it does so the Cavs could nab him

There are rumblings that Turner may end up coming back much sooner than first expected. The timeframe being bandied about is one month from the injury, which would make it early January.

Let's hope and pray (for once) these rumors are true.

I DID NOT "basicly" say anything of the kind. What I said is NO ONE knows what the psychological affects might be and how long it takes players with broken bones to play the game without thinking about the injury.
