Odds on Calipari

Cal's former schools have had to forfeit 2/2 Final Four Banners. Does he deserve the benefit of the doubt this time? It is a fair question about what will happen in a few years at Kentucky.

It's amazing how just mentioning names and allow things to build and build and build.

I guess that's what comes along with having Calipari as coach.

I think you just answered your own question.

I wish all the teams could buy their point guards. We should have an auction for them.

    per @GaryParrishCBS
"Somebody just straight up asked Cal on the stage what it's like to coach in his first Final Four. He was not amused."

I personally think it'll eventually be vacated, he's 2-2. And if you really think that Kentucky is going to put Cal under a microscope, you're nuts. It's been stated that UK wants to win at all cost. With that mentality, do you think they're going to raise the flag if/when Coach Cal commits any kind of violation? I think not. Just my opinion.

LOL @ this thread coming true!!! Coach Cal and trouble go hand in hand. This recruiter followed Cal from Memphis, where he was doing the same rule breaking there.

lol I thought April Fools was yesterday? This can't for real! My goodness is it really a coincident that trouble constantly followers this guy? This is unbelievable!

It looks like SkyHook saw it coming. lol. This is too crazy. Especially the allegations coming out after this thread was started. This thread is officially a classic now.

It has a long ways to go to reach that status...like this FF actually being in jeopardy of being vacated

Guys, this came out last year...it was posted and discussed on most Kentucky boards back then.

Nothing more than a national writer digging it up and getting hits on his article. It's a secondary violation. Again, they occur with every school. Rarely, if ever do they go further than the compliance office filling out paperwork and sending it to the NCAA.

Except for the fact that this asst coach was found to have violated the same rules while at Memphis, and Cal brought him along to Kentucky. He violated the same rule there. This will be more than paperwork. Sorry.

It won't be, because it has already been dealt with. It could have been a serious offense, but it was already reported and handled...that's the thing. Not the content, it's that the matter is over a year old...

For rebounding for a player? really? what a joke of a violation

Rumors now that the NY Knicks will pursue Cal this offseason.
  • Azubuike24
Haha, this again. This isn't a rumor, but a fact. I will be attempting to create my own NBA franchise in Worthington, Ohio and will try to lure top free agents to my team, including Deron Williams, by the end of the season.

Calipari has already stated he will be the coach next year. Rumors were with the Heat a week ago, the Nets last year, I've heard the Bulls mentioned and now the Knicks. Dick Vitale just spoke with Calipari today and reported he said the rumors were false about him considering the NBA. Sounds like he's making the rounds with those wanting to stir up controversey.

And you actually believe that IF he were interested, he would be up front publicly about it? lol Not sure ANY coach has EVER done that...let alone Calipari. I don't believe he will leave. But it also would not surprise me if he did either. And I think, eventually he will bolt UK for the NBA for the right situation. I'd be surprised if he stays at UK more than 5-7yrs...tops.
  • Azubuike24
That I can agree with, especially if he wins a title. He's publicly said he won't coach more than 10-12 more years total (when he took the job) so that would make some sense. However, this year...no.

That means NOTHING. There's MANY coaches who say, "I will be coaching at X next year." Then what happens? A week goes by and they leave for another job.

The other rumor is Calipari going to Anaheim/Sacramento Kings. He does have two former players, Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins, there. The Kings need a lot of help too. Their owners pay BIG money too.
