Sweet 16: (5) Arizona def. (1) Duke, 93-77
-
AutomatikWhat a great Friday!!!!
-
Hb31187How about that versatile defender Kyle Singler, Duke fans? LOL at you guys telling me he can guard 2-5 on the court. He sure did a good job guarding that 4 last night didnt he?
-
AutomatikSingler looked like a little boy out there at times. I've always been skeptical about how he would transition to the NBA. He will get abused.
-
Hb31187He needs to put some serious muscle on his frame, he got pushed around like he wasnt even there.
Most of the guys his height at the next level are either pretty damn big....or freak athletes. Singler is the complete opposite of both -
Tiger2003CC is running like Art who knows when we will see him!! My guess is when Ohio St loses.

Funny thing is, he was on here last night when Duke was taking their beating, he just wasn't posting on this thread. He's not the only poster of the Duke contingent eerily absent. -

Has REC showed up? -

Funny thing is, CC is also in last place in our players pool. LOL He banked on his Dookies there too. -
Prescott
Actually, george manned up.the Duke contingent eerily absent.
rec will be waiting for OSU to lose before showing up on this board. -
swamisezWhew, that was tough to watch last night. 134.8 points per possession is the highest defensive rating duke has yielded since 1997. When one bucket came then a board and another it was like watch a levee break. Don't think duke got exposed simply they lost to a team with a bit more hunger and the pieces necessary to limit duke's key players.
My only gripe was the way duke went about business in the second half. I know duke has been regarded as one of the best offensive teams and statistically a top 20 defense but the thing that seemed to nullify both of those facts was speed. zona did what UNC did to duke in the first half at Cameron. They ran duke off the floor so the lack in quickness by duke players in transition put them in terrible position to defend and rebound. Additionally this sped up the duke offense and for set shooters like curry and Dawkins they became bystanders to the only real players that could score in this type of game kyrie and Nolan. Arizona did a great job keeping Nolan smith in front of them and making him settle for jump shots.
Hats off to Sean miller on an excellent game plan and best of luck to the wildcats. They were superb tonight. -
swamisezAs for kyrie and chemistry I don't know? Think you shoot all the bullets in the gun if you have to. Duke wouldn't be able to win the title without Irving so they had to take a chance playing him.

I agree 100%.
Without him, that game would have been worse IMO.
