Friday Early Evening Game Thread

ts1227Didn't see one for this, so here we go.
6:50, TBS, Tulsa -- Kansas vs. Boston U.
7:15, CBS, Charlotte -- North Carolina vs. Long Island
7:20, TNT, Chicago -- Purdue vs. St. Peter’s
7:50, truTV, Cleveland -- Xavier vs. Marquette
BU hanging with Kansas for the first 12 minutes so far. -
ts1227Xavier/Marquette pushed back to 7:50, as the first game of the day ran long and has the entire schedule off in Cleveland
-
SportsAndLadyKansas is playing lousy
-
MulvaBoring games until Xavier. BU can't hang with Kansas for long.
John Holland looks like the best player on the court though. -
daveHeard from a friend it's a giant clusterfuck at the Q. Hard time getting everyone cleared out so everyone else can get back in. They didn't tell anyone the games were pushed back for awhile so everyone was pissed, some refusing to leave, etc. Even if the OSU game would have started on time it was a terrible scheduling job.

It was known ALL WEEK that they had to clear it out and let them back in in 30 minutes after the afternoon session (even if you have tickets to both sessions you have to exit and re-enter)... I read an article on the Plain Dealer website about how they were planning the logistics of it, and had examples of other places doing it because the NCAA forces it due to the TV setup. People are just stupid, it was made plenty clear, but you can only do so much when dealing with complete retards.
I don't see how the games going like 20 minutes long affects anything... people with 2nd session only tickets had stand outside for 20 minutes, whoopty doo. -
september63You forgot many of the fans have been drinking most of the day. Rationale behavior goes out the door.
-
grodtI thought I read that alcohol sale was prohibited in the arenas. It might have only been at one location though.
-
ts1227Alcohol sales were prohibited at least as of 2010. I doubt it has changed in the past year.
-
september63State High school games dont sell either. Is everyone in their sober? You get my point. There are bars within walking distance all day.
-
grodtFair enough.
Boston put up a good fight but Kansas is just too good. -
MulvaI picked Marquette in just about all of my online brackets, but those have mostly all blown up in my face by now. In my actual pool bracket I picked X for some reason (to the sweet 16 actually) even though I'm not expecting them to win, so it would be swell if they could surprise me and pull this one out.
-
ts1227Every game except the Xavier/Marquette one has turned into a blowout.

Yeah everyone knows that, the point is why have the osu game be the late game in session 2 and the xavier game be the 2nd game in session 3 today? People didn't want to leave because they didn't want to miss part of the game, which they most certainly would have before it was moved back. The problem was they supposedly didn't announce that right away. -

33-20 at the half, what do you call that? -

september63I think Joe's tupee was on too tight that day.
-
NonMarquette has had its way with Xavier from the outset
58-43 lead -
NonI like their swagger.
They'll have a shot in the next round. Probably against Syracuse, a conference foe. -
AcesinCaliforniaBoy, I like X a lot and always root for them to win, but that was an ugly offensive game. Jackson and Frease did what they usually do, but 3 of their big four scorers really blew tonight. Holloway, McLean, and Lyons a combined 5-24 from the floor for 15 points (average almost 45 collectively). Luckily Andrew Taylor played the game of his life or it would have been really ugly.
-
MulvaBlah. Should have stuck with Marquette. Tu Holloway with the disappearing act of the tournament.
Marquette is definitely solid though. 7 of their losses this year were by 5 pts or less, and they beat 'Cuse earlier in the season.
