All you gotta do is foul the dude...on a miss free throw, call timeout right away. on a made free throw, throw it in to half court and then call timeout. Much better chance of getting a better shot off. They're gonna have under 4 to go the length of the court.
See! Payne got the missed free throw, took him almost 2 seconds to pass it to Lucas who was in a tough situation with 3 defenders right by him. -

Yeah, his basketball skill is D1. His baskebtall IQ is short bus -

Elbow or not he cleared him self some room with his body. -

They aren't going to call that. -

I have seen it numerous of times. -
Cleveland BuckSums up their whole season. All the talent in the world, but you can't fuck around for 3/4 of the game and expect to win.

No.
People need to stop using this line when referring to MSU. They do not have as much talent as some of you want to believe. -

This.
Holly shit we agree on something. -
Hb31187Didnt realize Draymond Green put up 23 10 and 9...1 assist shy of a triple double

You're right. Lucas, Summers, Green, Roe, and Appling all suck, and Payne and Nix don't have any room for development. -

Roe averages 6 points a game..Payne is a freshman averaging 2.6 points a game..Nix averages 2.7 a game..Appling is a freshman averaging 6 points a game..Lucas, Summers, and Green are all good players, but they are incredibly inconsistent and no one would consider them "huge talents" This Michigan State team is incredibly overrated, they shouldn't have even been in the tourney! Hb31187Lucas would start for your team though S&L lol and youd gladly take em

I thought we were talking about talent, not their statistics. And yes I realize you don't know the difference.SportsAndLady;716147 wrote:Roe averages 6 points a game..Payne is a freshman averaging 2.6 points a game..Nix averages 2.7 a game..Appling is a freshman averaging 6 points a game..Lucas, Summers, and Green are all good players, but they are incredibly inconsistent and no one would consider them "huge talents" This Michigan State team is incredibly overrated, they shouldn't have even been in the tourney! Azubuike24Roe has been overrated since his injury. A VERY, VERY disappointing college player. Lucas is a shell of what he was his Sophomore year. Hell, Draymond Green has exceeded expectations. A former UK commit under Tubby, I never thought he would be a star, but quite honestly, he's a great versatile player. As for Payne, the guy had a knock of having rocks for brains coming out of HS. It has shown many times this year.

Absolutely.
My point isn't that MSU has bad players. It's that they have 3 good players and a bunch of AT BEST average role players. But even their 3 good players, two of them can be off on any night. They are so inconsistent. Not to mention the injuries and suspensions killed em.
Most teams in the country have 3 good players and a bunch of players averaging ~6 a game...MSU doesn't have that much talent, you just keep hearing that because it's MSU, they were in the FF last year, and Izzo. -

Sooo you want to try and sell me their talent off...? -
MulvaIn my opinion, they are not as talented as their preseason ranking (nowhere near the top tier teams talent wise), but way more talented than a 10 seed. They were overrated AND inconsistent though, so a 15 loss season and 1st round exit really shouldn't be surprising.
Summers and Roe are average, Nix is no good, and Appling and Payne may have good potential for the future, but future potential is totally different from present ability.
That said, Lucas and Green are both very solid college players who would start for most teams. Those 2 surrounded by a decent cast should have been able to earn at least a 5 or 6 seed. -
Cleveland BuckI'm not trying to say they are consistent, in fact my point pretty much was that they aren't. But Lucas is as quick a guard as you will see, is a clutch shooter, and is usually exceptional finishing at the rim (not tonight though). Summers can shoot it, finish above the rim, defend, and is a great athlete. He just doesn't have the mentality to dominate games like he could. Green can do everything. Appling is young, a good defender, and also a clutch shooter. When Roe is healthy, even if he isn't the athlete that he used to be, is still a tough defender and smooth in the low post. He just doesn't get it down there as much as he should. Payne is an elite athlete, even if an idiot. They have enough talent that they should have played much better than they did this year.

I just happen to disagree, sorry.
I kept hearing all year "MSU will start to kick it in now.." Well, they never did..whats that tell you? The talent was not there. They simply were not a very good team. A 20 win season and first round loss is exactly, if you look at the players on that team, what I would predict them to be. -

He got it.

I saw the postgame interview and they had a stat saying that he did. Thats why it stuck out to me that he got it. In the Florida-UCSB game, they said that no one has had one in the tournament since 2009 when Cole Aldrich did it. Chandler Parsons almost had one tonight but was a rebound short of it. He sat out the final 10 minutes of the game.
Green is now 7th player to "officiallly" have a triple double in the tournament.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/michigan-sts-draymond-green-records-7th-official-triple-double-in-ncaa-tournament-history/2011/03/18/ABeDB8n_story.htmlGreen joined Gary Grant (Michigan, 1987), Shaquille O’Neal (LSU, 1992), David Cain (St. John’s, 1993), Andre Miller (Utah, 1998), Dwyane Wade (Marquette, 2003) and Cole Aldrich (Kansas, 2009) on the NCAA’s list. -

They aren't loaded with talent, but they have enough talent to be MUCH better than a 19-15 team. Chemistry issues hurt his team dating back to last summer. Having to boot two key players since than and dealing with other issues. Lucas injury also didn't help. Tough year for Izzo..but he'll have MSU cranking again pretty soon IMO.
