NCAA Tournament Selection Show - Discussion Thread

No.1 Overall normally gets the toughest bracket

Florida and Kentucky should have been flipped

I really like OSU's draw. Playing in their home state and the 8/9 matchup is favorable. Also, 4/5 seeds are not the strongest comparing WVU to L'ville or Wisconsin etc.. UM and Tenn 8/9 matchup is tough imo.

The stronger teams are in the bottom with Cuse/UNC.

I honestly think Nova gets beat by GMU, as the Wildcats are reeling.

Missouri, Marquette, and the 4 play-in teams were the last 6 in.

Dick Vitale is pissed that VCU is in!!!!

Florida ia one of the worst #2's i have seen in awhile

WTF do some of you see in Sparty? They were supposed to beat PSU as well. They are not that good. They could get beat in the 1st game. Good to see them get in from Big Ten. But I think other teams were more deserving.

How in the hell did USC get in? 19-14 overall in a very bad Pac 10 conference results in a decent seed. SMH.

I feel like they gave some teams better seeds based on what they did last year ie butler and KSU

Understatement, might be the worst #2 seed ever...granted there was going to be a big drop off after SDSU/UNC/Notre Dame but Florida? 'Cuse should have got it over Florida, probably Purdue and the way they are playing now UConn.

OSU got a rough draw. The toughest 4 seed by far, the toughest 3 seed and a very good 2 seed - don't see a lot of upsets in that region either.

The SE is a toss-up, I agree with Seth, there could be multiple upsets in the first round, that region stinks.

C'mon man, if you're a proponent of what have you done for me lately as you've stated earlier, the surely you understand the Izzo factor.

Yeah and they did have 13 losses, which the committee looks at over a lot of things. But 3 wins against KSU, a win against Texas, Missouri...semi's of the Big 12 tourney...thought that might have been good enough for them.

    LOL...lately is THIS SEASON.

Wow, Jay is really slamming the committee.
VCU and UAB getting in over Colorado and VT.

I'll take Wisconsin over Kentucky, more sound team come tournament time.

When are the times announced? Also, do the Saturday/Sunday games already have predetermined times when the Thursday/Friday game times are released?
  • Cleveland Buck
Colorado should have been in over all 4 of the play-in teams.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
VPI doesn't deserve it, the only teams that have a gripe are Colorado and Alabama, but VCU getting in is an absolute joke. That is NOT a good team at all.
  • gorocks99
Belmont over Wisconsin in the first round ... book it.

It's usually later tonight, I think.
  • ptown_trojans_1
Wisconsin a 4 seed? Hasn't Wisconsin been a top 10 team all year?
The committee must have really nailed them on that PSU game.

It is funny how everyone assumed that with the additional three teams this year, mid-majors who don't win conference tourneys would have a better shot to get in. Instead, there's one less at-large mid-major than last year...and at least two 14-loss teams from major conferences.
  • Tiger2003
5 teams with 14 losses are in....only 6 from 85'-2010 have got in.
