Stoops, and Stoops?

  • crusader1980
I know Y-Town has interest in a Stoops. Has he signed yet? I'm not sure. Maybe my Y-Town Goomba connection can let us know.

My question is. If Bob takes the ND job, would his bro follow as DC? As Ted Knight would mumble...Hmmmmm...Hmmm, Hmmm?

This was the latest talk of Mark coming to YSU. By reading the article, it would appear as though it seems like a done deal other than the money which appears as it could be worked out. Hard to say if it comes to fruition and Bob going to ND could change things up a bit. A lot could hinge on that.

I think the name alone should help the program as far as talent influx is concerned but The Penguins have a lot of ground to make up.

I find it hard to believe that his brother would give us head coach at Arizona to be DC at ND.

As far as Mark going to YSU, nothing will happen until after the Arizona/USC game.

He'd be making more money at ND even as a DC than as HC at YSU.

It's not always about money with these guys. It's the power as well. Sometimes, power is priceless. Then again, power equals money as well.

I thought he was referring to Mike. If he is referring to Mark, I agree he would make more money as DC at ND, but he may want head coaching experience. Also at YSU he would be closer to his family. It would just depend how much value he puts on the head coaching experience and being closer to his family. I would be surprised if anything happens before Monday. Possibily something could happen Sunday, but nothing will happen before the Arizona/USC game.

I was just browsing insider and now it sounds like UNLV could be in the mix for Mark Stoops. Apparently the Arizona AD is thinking about taking the UNLV job and bringing Mark along. The insider article explains this is why the Stoops/YSU negotiations may be dragging out longer than most expected.

Unlv wow not sure if that is a better job than YSU.

    Higher paying

unlv is in the mountain west which is a lot better than what ysu is in

The fired caoch at unlv was getting 425000 and was the lowest in the mwc

If Mark Stoops is indeed offered a head coaching position at UNLV, then I see no reason why he would turn that down to take the job at YSU. The MWC is a legitimate FBS Conference, and he would have an opportunity to turn UNLV into the type of program that could play in BCS Bowls like TCU and Utah, which are also members of the MWC.

TCU is the #3 team in FBS and the BCS Standings, and playing in a BCS Bowls trumps making the FCS playoffs or even winning an FCS Title. Utah played in a BCS Bowl last year(Sugar Bowl) beating Alabama and finishing 13-0. BYU is a program with a national reputation for playing solid football. BYU is 10-2 and #14 in the USA Today poll. Utah is 9-3 and #24, giving the MWC 3 teams in the Top 25 of FBS this season.

And, in terms of money, there is no way that YSU can match an offer from UNLV.
