What about T.Pryor?

Those are team numbers and I still feel an average QB would have put up very similar numbers.
So the passing records are team numbers? What about rushing stats? Which "average" QB could have done the same?
Bauserman? So he can make drive saving 1st downs with his legs? -

TP had better stats his Jr year than Smith did the year he won the Heisman -

Yes passing has a lot to do with the great WR's he has and yes he is a good runner but the team would not be bad off if he never went to OSU IMO. -

Again, he is good no question about it but there is no way he is the sole reason they win games. They won a lot of games before he ever stepped foot on that campus. -
thedynasty1998I tend to side with bo schemmy on the Pryor argument. OSU loses a max of 2 games last year with anyone at QB. They are just so superior across the board of other Big 10 teams that an average QB would have a great career record.

So? -

Not as bad off, but still not as good as they are/were with him. -

He is re-writing the OSU offensive record books, even with the 5 game suspension. On top of that, he's winning titles and bowl games. Yet you wonder why everyone is high on him? He's a physical freak who has gone from an athlete to a pretty decent QB, that's why. -
bo shemmy3337LJ;705353 wrote:So?
So I am saying he has not changed OSU and he is not the reason they do what they do. They would have been just fine without him. The QB would not have put up the numbers he has but they would have made up for it in other ways. The team is great every year and it is not because of him. -

They would not have won the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl without him. -

You really think he has made the team better than what they were before he got there? They beat Michigan the 4 years before he got there. They won a national tittle in 03 and won the big ten or at least a share of it all 4 years before he got there as well. -

Yes. -

Your going off of the current team who has no backup, if he never came OSU would have got another stud and would have been just fine. It is not like OSu entire future was riding on his choice to come to OSU. It is not like Lebron leaving Cleveland. -

You can't hold a QB back just because he plays for a great team. Roethlisberger has played on some great teams and surely a lot of other QB's could win for the Steelers with the defense and offensive playmakers they have, but that doesn't take away from Roethlisberger being a pretty damn good NFL QB. -

I'm saying that I've never heard any OSU fan claim that lol. Do you know what reaching is? Because thats what you're doing. Fishing for negative shit to say that really isn't warranted.
If you want to bash Pryor for being a dumbass I'm all for that. -

How many "stud" QB's for OSU can you name in the past 20 years? -

I am not bashing or reaching, I just do not think he is the GOAT like so many do. -

Who said he was the GOAT? Now you're just making stuff up.
But wait...."OSU fans were saying it omg!" -

Oh well who gives a shit? You're a Michigan fan so what would you know about OSU football players and their meaning to the program. -

It doesn't have to be a QB AJ hawk was the man for years, someone would have stepped up and they would have been the star of the team but either way they would still be winners IMO. -
thedynasty1998I think I'm in the middle. I think Pryor is a good college QB. However, I do think he gets too much credit and is labeled as great too often.

Many people act like he is the GOAT which is the point behind my argument -
