BYU Becomes This Year's Purdue
-
PrescottAfter Purdue lost Hummel last year, the Boilers became a shell of what they once were. They became an overrated #4 seed because the committee did not want punish them too badly for the loss of a key player.
If BYU is over-seeded at #3 or #4 the team that draws them will be getting a break. -
september63Fair assessment.

PrescottI am praying that BYU ends up in OSU's bracket.
-
wes_mantoothI really think they will lose in the their conference tourney now, so that will probably drop them to around a 4 or 5. Seems fair considering they still have maybe the player of the year.
-
krambmanMaybe the committee will make them a #5 seed to help with the obligatory 5/12 upset.
Situations like this have to be some of the toughest things for the selection committee to deal with. I know that a key player being injured can knock a bubble team out of the tourney, but this is a team that is securely in as a high seed. At least this time there should be a decent body of work to judge how big of an impact this loss has on them. Hopefully they end up playing SDSU again, to really show us the impact. -
gorocks99Purdue made the Sweet 16 last year and lost as a four seed to the #1 seed. I view that as neither over nor underrated.

gorocks99Roasted.
But seriously, BYU could easily end up overrated this year; I just don't get the Purdue analogy.
