Last team to do it was last year, OSU. -

Yep, I believe they said towards the end of the game that the last team to do it was OSU. -

As far as watching the game goes, it was not a clean game.
This was my impression of the game. Looked like the men in stripes were in a hurry to catch a flight.
Good, solid performance by the Buckeyes. The offense was clicking on all cylinders tonight. -
Big GainI mean Sullinger has been getting pounded on in the Big Ten, but when he shoots ZERO free throw you know the officials just aren't paying attention.
If he was 40 pounds lighter he'd get more calls. Sometimes it's like the Refs are thinking, "You're so big you can take care of yourself." -
ytownfootballI just get a little pissed when they call so many touch/BS hand check fouls and Sully gets pounded all game. To his credit, he doesn't seem to be rattled often.

I agree.
But then again, according to Jay Bilas, when a defender puts 2 hands on a player on the perimeter it is an "automatic" call. Even though it only gets called about 60% of the time. -
ytownfootballShit, Lighty got pushed two handed in the back and went to the floor...no foul. Lol
-
PrescottNot many teams can win a game by 20 when their opponent is hitting 3's like Illinois did.The difference: OSU had 3 turnovers while Illinois had 16 and OSU had 9 steals while Illinois had 1.
Great to see Lighty get his offense going and to see Diebler score so efficiently. 13 points on 5 attempts is pretty damn good.
The goaltend and the push in the back should have never been missed. -

I think that was Craft who was pushed, but I get your point...calling fouls aside, I thought the refs were awful--period. -

Lighty got shoved in the back during a Sullinger dunk. Tisdale basically tried to shove Lighty into Sullinger.vball10set;688186 wrote:I think that was Craft who was pushed, but I get your point...calling fouls aside, I thought the refs were awful--period. -
vball10set^^^gotcha'...I know Craft was also given a two-handed shove in the back as he shoveled a pass to the backcourt, a shove that was missed terribly by the refs and was commented on harshly by the announcers.

mallymal614It's great to see other players step out when Jared is denied the ball. This is what I was trying to say on the Purdue game thread. As good as Jared is, I want a guard or wing player to take over ball games, because guard play is what usually wins championships because they will always have the ball in their hands.

Prescott
I think this occurred in the first half after Illinois had poked the ball away from Craft and he jumped to regain control of the ball. When gained the advantage, the Illini player pushed him in the back and he fell to the floor as he passed the ball.^^^gotcha'...I know Craft was also given a two-handed shove in the back as he shoveled a pass to the backcourt, a shove that was missed terribly by the refs and was commented on harshly by the announcers. -

Jared really wasn't denied the ball too much last nite. If I was disappionted in one thing, I don't believe he had enough touches...and he was open. But when Buford and Lighty are feeling as they were...its hard to fault them. -

The first 7/8 min or so of the second half, the officials were bad. And the crowd let them know it big time. They swallowed their whistles as OSU got hit a number of times. Tisdale hammered someone, no call and he fell to the floor. While he was on the floor, the intentially tried to trip an OSU player...the official was standing right there watching...Matta got up and the official waved him off. It was pretty sad. After that, whent he crowd got on them as they finally called a foul against ILL...things seem to equal out quite a bit. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeSo happy the Buckeyes won... especially since Wilboner thumped his chest because he had OSU losing thrice and it didn't quite happen now did it, Mr Wilbon?

vball10setcbf, how was the crowd, especially the student section? it's hard to tell on TV, but it looked like they were pretty enthusiastic

Crowd has been very good at the games IMO(since big ten season started). Students section has been good as well. There were some empty seats in the corner area of students. So if I ever hear students bitching about tickets....it won't sit well with me. But those there, full on sideline, and under basket, have been great overall for ths eason. Certainly creates a much better atmosphere.
