Your Least Favorite OSU Player of All Time

Good to see everyone's favorite Sylvester at the game and I think he was sitting next to Butler.

SMH at people hating on The Microwave.

BFC, Damon Stringer, Boban, Twigs, Rodenovich (sp?) and Terrance Dials. It wasn't his fault, but he was so overrated it wasn't even funny. He was an average D-1 player at best.

Players I loved watching play...Singleton, Ken Johnson (played the game NASTY), Conley, Redd, and Scoonie.

Can't believe nobody has mention Ron Lewis or Shaun Stonerook yet, either way.

Ken Johnson was NASTY? I don't think so. He blocked a lot of shots but there wasn't a nasty bone in his body.
  • Prescott
Terrance Dials. It wasn't his fault, but he was so overrated it wasn't even funny. He was an average D-1 player at best.
He was the Big 10 Player of the Year, wasn't he?

    That's a good average D1 player!

    Damon Flint!!

Good call whoever mentioned Stringer. What a POS. He and Greg Simpson.

I always liked watching Funderburke. He was a top notch A-hole but when he wanted to play hard he could dominate a game.

Probably unfair to him...but on 'TOMBTSRN' (That Other Message Board That Shall Remain Nameless), the Archbold faithful made him out to be the second coming of Jesus Christ who the 4th Wise man brought a basketball to and laid it in the manger.....kinda like Ben Mauk....just got sick of hearing about him from his small-town, small-minded fans.

He wasn't even a real good MAC player....it WAS funny when he didn't get a scholarship after his walk-on season and went to Akron, the Archbold people were never heard from again!

    Archbold? Wasn't he from Willard?

My bad.....yes, he was from Willard.

Doesn't change the gist of the rant, thou.

Kinda sorta. There would be a good reason why the Archbold faithful wasn't heard from.

It's funny to me how people can so over hype a player that he will never live up to it and then it's hard not hold that against the player. (Kinda like Diebler or Justin Zwick)

Just replace 'Archbold' with 'Willard' throughout the rant......

    1. BJ Mullens/Kosta Koufos-Really the same player to me (except Koufos had a jumpshot). Guys who only came to Ohio State because it was the best college team near their hometowns and the NBA wouldn't let them go in the draft after HS. Had no pride or interest in being Buckeyes and left school after one year despite being average at best. Not going to lie, part of me is happy to see the "success" they're having at the next level. It's just a shame they will always have an "Ohio State" next to their name on the roster.

1a. Ivan Harris-The original Deshaun Thomas except worse. Ivan would shoot and shoot and shoot regardless of whether or not his shots were going in. His performance in the NC game set basketball back 40 years.

If it were before the Illinois shot Matt Sylvester would defintiely be mine. He was always my brother's favorite player and I always gave him shit for it but after the Illinois game, I couldn't. I think Cook and someone else were at that game and committed to OSU shortly after to start to form the Thad 5. So I will never rip on Sylvester as the program has been pretty solid ever since.

Very brief Buckeye but I would put Anthony Crater up there. Gave up immediately because of playing time and what has he done at South Florida? Next to nothing.

I KNEW that Zwick's name would come up sooner or later. I, apparently, am one of the few that thinks he wasn't over-rated. (I should qualify this by saying that I know him, was his history teacher and think he's a really good guy!) One game blew his career, imo. As for Diebler, I was thinking that he was doing pretty good. Oh well, this is a thread about your least favorite Buckeye, so let it rip and enjoy your 1st amendment freedoms!

I have to disagree about Mullens. Though I do think he made a bad decision, the kid was committed to OSU as a HS Freshman, and it was his dream to be a Buckeye. Also, he came from a very poor family, and it's hard to blame a kid for wanting to make that money and financially stabilize his family.

Greg Simpson in a landslide......................................................by the way..his high school coach still owes me money from a bet concerning Greg....

    Bobby Knight.

Lucas and Siegfried both told me he was always whining about playing time. ;)
