Oklahoma State is getting ripped by A&M today, and that is going to really put them off the Tournament line.

What are you talking about. The game is at halftime and Ok State is leading.

I feel all of the joshing will have faded by about 3 p.m. tomorrow. Besides, despite the loss today, Texas is still the best overall team in the country, from top of the starting lineup to the bottom. This Longhorn unit is built to be a beast in March.

Ryan Smith for 45. Mark it down. Representin' the Panthers.

I'm not seeing it. I'd be shocked if they made the Final Four.

I just really like the trio of the versatile Jordan Hamilton (a top three or four forward in the country, with excellent range), big man Tristan Thompson (dependable paint production/defense) and guard Cory Joseph (hasn't been on fire of late, but a great spurt scorer out top). Maybe I'm putting too much weight on the fact that Texas played like world beaters during that torrid January to mid-February stretch, but, over the last month and a half, Texas has looked like it has all the pieces fitting together nicely. Random losses are part of the game. It happens to the best of them, and Nebraska is actually a good team. Had Texas won tonight by 10, a lot of people would be starting to push Texas a clear pace ahead of the rest. But that's how it works.

I also think that the Final Four being played in Houston will add another level of motivation to this team. It would be a really big deal to play in front of the Lone Star state. I mean, look at how this helped out the Cowboys this year for the Super Bowl. (I added that to show the Final Four location means very little most of the time, but, on occasion, it serves as an extra spark. Look at MSU in '09. Tom Izzo remarked throughout the whole season how much playing in Detroit meant to the team, the school and the fans.)

Sigh, a team with 4 losses is not the best team in the nation. OSU is the best team, there's no doubt about it. Enjoy your sweet 16 loss.

    I will thanks.

As I said, one loss doesn't change anything. Before yesterday's game at Nebraska, many of the experts were also choosing Texas as their "best overall team in the country." Chances are, they haven't changed their minds. Duke had four losses on Feb. 27 of 2001, after losing in Cameron to Maryland. That team today is arguably the greatest team of the last 15 years.

And thanks, I always enjoy myself. Four times out of the last 20 isn't bad odds...

Rep them by spelling his name right. Haha. They are doing pretty well this year. Lost their first game of the season last week.

I should have worded it differently. I was saying OSU has been taking on water and was going to lose to A&M. The game ended up coming down to the wire, so my statement wasn't as prophetic as I thought. It shouldn't have been worded in the present tense though.

care to make a friendly wager on this? I'll even knock half off your prediction of 45 and say that if RYNE Smith scores 23 or more, I'll not post for a month, and if he doesn't, you return the favor---agreed?? and I won't even comment on the "Texas is the best team" bullshit

btw, what happened to your Panthers against the SJJ Titans??

    I knew that was coming:D

I wont back down though, and will man up. Texas until that game looked unbeatable versus anyone anywhere in my eyes. But the Huskers got the best of them. What a 2nd half by Nebraska.

Looks like OSU (big IF) may make a quick return to #1.

If Purdue wins does Duke vault all the way to 1, or only jump Pitt and Texas?

Eddie Norrils got mad and took over. Whitmer, in my mind, was the best team that night though I think SJJ is better. Whitmer just lost it for a 6 minute span. If a coach contain Nigel Hayes and work on his shooting, (because his shot is really nice and soft, just doesnt ever go in lol) they are going to be getting a BEAST in college.
Matta is getting a fantastic player in Marc Loving. Good length, nice shot, good rebounder. Just needs to develop a mean streak and learn to take over. He is a very smooth player right now.

Im excited to see the rematch, assuming SJJ gets by Bowsher and Whitmer gets by Central.

Tough call on that one, lot depends on Purdue/OSU. OSU win it's a moot point, a loss big would be different than a tight loss but still may not matter.

Yes Duke should be #1 if they win vs Georgia Tech and the Buckeyes lose. If the Buckeyes win and so does Duke, the Blue Devils will be the #2 ranked team followed by Kansas, Texas, SDSU, Pitt.

#1, I'd rather watch Neal McCoy consume a 300-pound watermelon than care for 10 seconds about the Whitmer Panthers. And as for thinking RYNE -- what is he, a half rhino, half person? Let's conform to the Anglo-Saxon naming process please -- scoring 45-plus, obviously I didn't type that with a serious face.

#2, calling Texas the best overall team in the country is not bullshit. If that's "bullshit," then suggesting OSU is the best team in the country after losing two of three is a "straight fucking lie." I don't care that the Buckeyes played those losses in "the two toughest places in the country," which, with regard to Purdue, is 100% untrue anyway. Point is, those two Ohio State losses don't take away from the Buckeyes' status as a top three team one bit, just as Texas' loss at Nebraska -- a probable NCAA team -- doesn't, either.

#1, I didn't name him- his parents did, and if you don't care about the Whitmer Panthers, then don't post the "representin'" bullshit

#2, I posted this before OSU lost their second game, and nowhere did I suggest that they were the "best team in the country", even though I do believe they are one of the top five, with no particular team being "the best". Point is, if you think that Nebraska is a tougher opponent, and that Lincoln is a tougher place to play, than Purdue at West Lafayette, then you're a moron.

and that, my friend, is no fucking lie

You, on the other hand, obviously care way too much.

I won't even respond to that, since that's completely unrelated to what I said. Because of this, I no longer care.
