Great thread. Came here to start it but see a fellow CBB decided to do it prior.

Virginia Commonwealth (20-8) at Wichita State (22-5)

Didn't see this one here, but they play tonight to kick off the event.

    Vermont (22-5) at Charleston (20-7)

Probably the game I'm most interested in. Two fun teams to watch.

George Mason (22-5) at Northern Iowa (19-9)

Northern Iowa has taken on water since losing O'Rear for the season and Mason should roll. Utah State has a lot to gain as they can pretty much seal an at-large bid if they get to 30 wins and add a win over SMC.

Yeah I forgot to add in the Friday and Sunday games when doing this, Kent State-Drexel play tonight as well, and Cleveland State-Old Dominion play Sunday in the game I'm probably most interested in. Overall, a big weekend for the CAA, to this point they've been the best of the mid-major leagues, would go a long way if they could get some big wins this weekend.

Absolutely none of those games seem remotely interesting.

Might DVR Utah St to see how they play though.

Good game between VCU and Wichita St so far. Both these teams could win a game in the tourney if they get in.

Isn't VCU the team that beat Duke a couple years ago in the tourney?

Well that lineup is proof that the term 'Bracket Buster' is totally meaningless. 9-17 CS Fullerton @ 8-17 Idaho State, huh?

Azu nailed the 2 games I'm actually interested in, Vermont @ Charleston and George Mason @ Northern Iowa. I don't care about seeing Utah State. They're the same team every year. They'll win the WAC, and then get bounced in the first round.

Well, only about 15 of the games have any actual "Bracket Busting" meaning (if that), but the full conferences agree to the event so there are 80 other flaming shitwrecks that are scheduled. There's a reason they only put 11 on TV.

Manhatten and Stony Brook will have national championship implications!

The Jaspars have fallen on hard times. I remember when they were really good in the early to mid 90's when Fran Fraschilla was coaching there.

Like my friend CinciX12, none of these games excite me. I know some of the teams from the smaller conferences have had great success (ie. Butler, Gonzago VCU, Davidson), it just does not seem the depth of quality teams is what it once was in these smaller conferences.

    Big win for VCU.

95% of these games have nothing to do with busting any brackets. The only reason most teams agree to play them in the middle of their conference schedule is $$$$$$$. I know Akron doesn't need to play Creighton. And, the coach doesn't really like the game. Only way they get in is to win the MAC.

    :D

Missouri State and Valpo. might be interesting.
  • Bigdogg
Wright State putting it to Hoftstra right now.

Dambrot is an enormous dick, he doesn't like much of anything.

Big win for Morehead State. They are rolling in the Ohio Valley. Looks like Morehead vs Murray for the conference bid.

James Madison moving up in the Colonial, that's going to be a fantastic conference tournament.

Fairfield will win the MAAC and be the overwhelming favorite to take that bid, they took care of Austin Peay.
  • burt07
Well some of the matchups might not be the best but at least they've produced close games with 14 of the 18 games so far being decided by less than 10 points.
  • burt07
Valpo and Charleston with the big home wins. Bracket Busters has definitely not been too kind to the Missouri Valley thus far, as two of their top teams go down, along with some of their bottom feeders. They'll have to hope Northern Iowa can salvage something against George Mason.
  • Tiger2003
George Mason wins at Northern Iowa to extend their winning streak to 13. A bad day for the Missouri Valley.
  • Mulva
MVC probably sealed its fate as a 1 bid league.
  • Azubuike24
It certainly wasn't going to get any help from Northern Iowa.
  • burt07
Utah State with the big road win over St. Mary's, could be big for them come seeding time if they're able to take care of business from here on out.

Yeah, Wichita State was probably the only team with a realistic shot, but now I think that's out the window entirely.

Cleveland State - ODU tomorrow could be interesting. And Utah State will still go out in the 1st round.
