The committee(I believe they were in charge of it) invited writers from across the nation for a Mock Selection Sunday to give them a feel of the process. Various writers/bloggers that I follow on twitter have tweeted about today and it has been insightful and a great read. I have read closely what The Hoops Report writer Ryan Feldman has wrote(no reason, just that he posted a ton of info) about what they went through. The writers were thrown into random pairs to make a mock committee. Here is some of the stuff they came up with.
Teams considered locks for bids: Arizona, BYU, UConn, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas,Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pitt, Purdue, San Diego State, Syracuse, Texas, Vandy, Nova, Wisconsin, Xavier
Teams under consideration for bids: Alabama ,Baylor, Boston College, Butler, Cincinnati, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Colorado,Colorado State, Dayton, Duquesne, Florida State, George Mason, Georgia, Gonzaga, Harvard, Illinois, Kansas State, Marquette, Maryland, Memphis,Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Missouri State, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Old Dominion, Richmond, Southern Miss, St. John's,St. Mary's, Temple, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UAB ,UCLA, UNLV, UTEP, Utah State, Virginia Tech, Washington, Washington State.
All pairs voted on a top 8 consensus and it was Duke, BYU, SDSU, Kansas, OSU, Texas, Notre Dame and Pitt(in no order). A top 8 consensus from all the pairs were taken and Feldman and his partner (writer for Dayton newspaper Doug Harris) voted: Ohio State, Kansas, Pitt, Texas, Duke, BYU, SDSU, Notre Dame.
In the mock bracket all four number ones were unanimous OSU,Kansas, and Texas all went as top seeds.
Here is Feldman/Harris' mock bracket(I would go with this or any of the other mock's from today over Lunardi's)
San Antonio-Kansas(1)/'Nova(4),Purdue(3)/G'Town(2)
Newark-Pitt/UNC,UConn/San Diego St.
New Orleans-OSU/Vandy,ND/Duke
Anaheim-Texas/Wisconsin,Florida/BYU

Here is his twitter account. Its a good read if you have the time. I hope someone writes a story about it so it better structure and explaining, but very good on the fly nontheless.
