Jordan Taylor Snubbed....No Longer
-
PrescottIt is difficult to understand why the best PG in the Big 10 was left off of the finalists list for the Bob Cousy award.
Andy Katz doesn't get it either.

september63I agree. Win or not he is for certain a top 10 PG.
-
lhslep134He's really really good. CANNOT wait for the Taylor/Craft battle.
-
burt07McCamey has been extremely overrated his whole time at Illinois. People have raved about him but what has he done? Missed two tournaments and one first round bounce. He's actually gotten worse from last year but he still gets the pub. I don't really get it.

Are we talking about basketball or wrestling? Because I could swear there are 4 other guys on the floor with you in basketball. -

Disagree. McCamey is really good IMO. Yes, he has had a poor season this year. But Weber is doing a pisspoor job coaching this team. I think McCamey will be a good pro. -
burt07He's been the leader of that team for 3 years now and they have done next to nothing. That's not to say he doesn't have good games and that other guys are not to blame as well, as they are. Guys like Mike Davis have never lived up to their expectations. But for someone that has regressed this year and disappears in games, he gets a lot more credit than he deserves.

Your only as good as those around you. Its a team sport. If Sullinger didn't have the players he has around him, he wouldn't be doing nearly as good as he is.
On top of that, he is still getting 15pts per game, 7 asst and shooting nearly 50% from three. Still not too shabby. -
ytownfootballThe Cousy award isn't a lifetime achievement award, and he's (McCamey) not done well enough this year to be up for consideration imo.
-
burt07He still has decent stats and like I said, there have been times when he's stepped up, but like the original article by Katz says, it doesn't match up to what guys like Hollaway and Taylor have done. He's living a lot off the reputation he's developed, which I still don't get why it's such a great reputation to begin with.

Eh, I think if Sullinger didn't have other good players around him he would look even more dominant than he has. -

I don't see your logic. Another thing that makes Sullinger tough (besides his own skills) is that the other teams pay for double teaming him by giving up threes to his teammates. If his teammates couldn't shoot, well, the whole defense would collapse on him. Surely you can see that. -

No, I never said he should be in the running for this award. I just didn't agree with you saying he is way overrated. His reputation is what it is because he has been a pretty consistant player for almost 4yrs now. -
SQ_CraziesDefenses already collapse on him, he scores anyways. The reason they're undefeated is because he kicks to those shooters and they just generally have space. If they didn't, he'd just get the ball more and dominate more--the team wouldn't be as good.
-
cat_loverJordan Taylor should be on that list for sure.
-
CinciX12Jordan Taylor isn't even the best player that was left off that list.
But I'll play along and just laugh at some of the names on it. No one actually watches a game I think. They just read the pure bullshit that ESPN's 'writers' decide to see fit to write about. -
september63He looked good yesterday.
-
vball10setagreed--he made some people who left him off the list look foolish...he was unstoppable yesterday

He's on the list as the 11th finalist and RIGHTFULLY so.
BTW I edited the thread title to reflect this... -
Tiger2003Good for him, but bad for the award.

I agree.
Nothing gives you a black eye like going back on your original word.
I hope he wins it and refuses to accept it lol -
september63These awards are mostly all BS anyways. How can Bo Ryan be on the committee that selects the winner? It is all about politicking.
-
CinciX12Well now its official that the award is a joke. Good lord. Its flat out admitting that those voting didn't watch any Wisconsin games this year except versus Ohio State.

This guy should have been on the list.... -

No one on the committee even knows where that tiny little school is. Let alone vote for a guy who is top 10 easily and could be argued top 5. 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists a game isn't very good anyway. Lots of people do it
