We're talking about arguably the best player in college basketball...anytime to come back is the best time. -

My guess is he didn't have the up to date numbers. Going into this year, it was UK 1 and Carolina 2
Of course you would think he would have updated numbers in front of him.

By the way, I know some people have talked about my comment about the winning programs and I know I made a mistake saying Kentucky and Carolina have the most wins. I know Kansas passed Carolina, so I want to make sure Rock, Chalk, Jayhawks knows I am aware." -

Ironman9202....dook?
C'mon man....your hatred should not take you down to a Wellston level. -
wildcats20
Dook is the proper spelling.02....dook?
C'mon man....your hatred should not take you down to a Wellston level. -
Ironman92Dook is also the defending National Champion
02 is better than that.......I wonder what he thinks of the idiots who call his team the Clowns?
I don't care...just giving him a little hell.
Go to hell Jon Scheyer! -
ironman02Geez, 92. You basically just called me an idiot and told me that I'm like people from Wellston. I think that one hurts a little more than me typing "dook".
Be happy. Think of last night as your own personal redemption after last Sunday.
And, yes, Scheyer can still go to hell. He can take Seth Curry with him. -
RiverRat13Carolina still can't shoot. Hopefully Bullock comes on and becomes a threat from outside. You can't win in today's game if you can't hit from beyond the arc. That said, Carolina seemed to forget about feeding the post for long stretches in the second half.
Marshall played well, but he had no shot at guarding Smith. Nor does anyone else on the Carolina roster.
Would have been interesting to see if Curry goes off if Strickland doesn't get his 3rd foul on what was easily the worst call of the night. Beautiful pass from Kendall as Singler clearly slides under Dex as he lays it in. Wiped off two and possibly three from the board while giving Dexter his third foul of the first half. Game changing call. -
wildcats20Glad I'm not the only one who thought that was a TERRIBLE call.
Not only was Singler sliding into position, Dex maneuvered his body around Singler and didn't even make that much contact.
And easily the dumbest play of the night, and a clear cheap shot, was Thornton sliding under L Mac(I think). He hurt himself and deserved to get hurt on that play. -
Ironman92What happened last Sunday?
-
ironman02Super Bowl.
-
wildcats20Let me clarify by statements lol
I will never wish an injury on someone. But when you slide under someone long after they have left the ground, you are a complete idiot. -
Ironman92The better and more deserving team won. You'd be amazed how much it didn't bother me. It sucked as they had and blew their chances....but when the other team deserves it more.....I'm damn near adult-like.
This just in....Jon Scheyer has been located in Wellston!
Oh yeah......During the Wellston/Jackson basketball game.....Osborne was sitting in the Jackson student section -
ironman02I'm rarely adult-like when it comes to sports. You know this.
Osborne sitting with the Jackson kids. Interesting. Can't say that I'd turn him away. -
Ironman92....sitting with the stud O-lineman from Oak Hill
-
ironman02haha...even better. We'll be getting investigated by the OHSAA pretty soon.
-
reclegend22From the terrifyingly attached perspective of a Duke fan: The first 20 minutes of last night's contest weren't a nightmare. They were Charles Manson in your kitchen wielding an axe.
North Carolina, you played one hell of a game and, although I'm sure it's no consolation, busted our ass in the first half.
I guess that depends on your definition of target. If by target you are referencing rehab time, then the NCAA tournament would be the most ideal. But there is no doubt about it, if Kyrie is going to return, the most opportune stage would be ACC tournament weekend. That would give him three full games against strong competition to begin re-adjusting to the speed, intensity and overall rigors of this level of basketball. If you were to include the first round game of the NCAAs, that would give Kyrie four complete games to gradually ease back into his former pace -- but, after Belmont, I take nothing in March for granted.wildcats wrote:I would agree, but think the NCAA's would be the target
Obviously, from my tone above, I do feel Kyrie will return this season. As CBF stated earlier, coaches are always going to preach the Joe Theisman scenario, and Coach K is no different. This allows the current team to move forward with confidence and to be prepared to play under any circumstances. It's the only approach to take. -
wildcats20^^Yeah, I was going more based on the "he won't return" that Dickie V was giving all last night.
I would say if he is to play this year, it will be at the ACC Tournament. -
swamisezI too am of the persuasion that kyrie will be in uniform on march 5 and will play sparingly in the acc tournament.
-
ironman02He's gonna come back and they're gonna win the national title. I've been a little consumed with Carolina beginning to show true signs of life, so I haven't made that statement in a while.
Now seems like a perfect time to refresh everyone's memory, especially reclegend22's. Book it, rec. Unfortunately, it's a done deal. -
ironman02And while I'm at it, more good news in Durham tonight.
Rasheed Sulaimon, a 5* SG out of Texas, has verbally committed to the Blue Devils. He joins 5* SF Alex Murphy in what is already looking like a monster 2012 class for the Evil Empire.
They already have Rivers, Cook, Gbinije, and Plum III coming in next year. How many schollies do they have open for that '12 class? -

To be truthful for a moment, I will feel much better about Duke's chances of winning a second title since North Carolina's last if the Devils are able to leave the Dean Dome (aka "Matt Christensen Pavilion" haha) victorious on March 5. I've said it before and I'll say it again: as it stands currently, our defense in the paint might as well consist of five traffic lights turned green. If we can improve our defense in this area, even marginally, and actually compete with the front-court talent of Carolina, we have a shot to raise a fifth banner in Cameron Indoor.
In light of yesterday evening's results and the fact that CBS is airing the telecast in prime time on a Saturday night, March 5 is going to be the most hyped Duke-Carolina game since 2001 in Chapel Hill (Duke 95, UNC 81.) -
wildcats20The fact that the 2nd game is on a Saturday disgusts me.
-
swamisezIn regards to the scholarships, currently they have 10 scholarship players on the roster of the possible 12.
I am thinking that last year they had 8 on the roster for most of the year. -
ironman02Pretty sure the maximum is 13 now.
I'm guessing that these are the 10 scholarship players...
Kyrie Irving
Nolan Smith
Tyler Thornton
Mason Plumlee
Kyle Singler
Josh Hairston
Andre Dawkins
Miles Plumlee
Seth Curry
Ryan Kelly
They'll lose Singer and Smith to graduation this year, leaving them with a maximum of 8 scholarship players. Irving may head to the NBA, but we'll count him in. They bring in Rivers, Cook, Gbinije, and Plumlee III next year, which would put them at 12. They wouldn't lose anyone to graduation next season, but Irving and Rivers will most likely be gone to the NBA. I'm guessing that they can bring in 3 players in the 2012 class, maybe more if someone else leaves early. Sulaimon and Murphy are the first two...room for at least one more, I would assume.
