LJ had said he was having his most complete game so far, not after the game or even second half. Obviously he didn't end up having a very complete game but he was looking like he fit in to the team in part of the first half. Tiger himself even said he was making the extra pass and myself and S&L agreed that it was nice to see him actually moving the ball around and not just throwing it to the rim. It was very shirt lived though, haha. Was it an overstatement? Probably, but anytime Thomas just doesn't throw it up is just great to see.

They also said that's what scorers do. They also said he not only would be a starter for every other Big Ten team, but a top three player onmost Big Ten teams.

When quoting someone, give the ENTIRITY of what was said, not just the portion that suits your position.

I really think this team ends the problems in Madison and the Bucks walk away with the Win next weekend.

I've heard them say he would be the best Freshman on any other B10 team.

Hell he isn't even the 2nd best Freshman on OSU's team.

DUH!!! And that is why Ohio State is the best team in the country.

And they are right. I have been critical of Thomas as anybody else when it comes to his shot selections and inability to make the extra pass, but he is a unique talent. He can shoot from outside, power inside, dribble up the court, and rebound the ball. His defense is underrated too. A complete package if you ask me. What's holding him back is that he had has a 5th year senior (Lighty) and a first round NBA prospect (Buford) who are experienced with similar styles as him. So he doesn't get as many minutes as he possibly could have with the 10 other Big Ten (11) teams. That's just like if Craft played on the 2007 Buckeye team with Conley and Butler, he probably wouldn't even play. If so, it would have been very little. Thomas was the #1 recruit in high school at one point for a reason.

Compare players stats by minutes played.

Thomas averages .60 points per minute played. Sullinger averages .58 points per minute played. Thomas is best on the team
Thomas averages .27 rebounds per minute. Sullinger averages .33 rebounds per minutes. Thomas is 2nd on team
Thomas averages .12 offensive rebounds per minute. Sullinger averages .10 offensive rebounds per minute. Thomas is best on team.

Thomas makes 826% of his Free Throws, best on the team.
Thomas makes 56% of his 2-pointers, 3rd best on the team behind Sullinger and Lauderdale.
Thomas's 267% on 3-pointers pulls his shooting percentage down to 479%, still better than Buford's and Lighty's shooting percentage.

Thomas' 3-point shooting % is about what Diebler's was as a Freshman. If Thomas improves his 3-point % like Diebler did his Sophomore year Thomas will be 1st Team All Big Ten next year.

How many shot attempts per minute does Thomas average? I'm guessing he leads the team in that category by a mile.
  • Big Gain
Thomas averages .45 shots per minute. Sullinger averages .35 shots per minute. 1st and 2nd on the team. Is that "a mile"?

An interestng stat from this game. Sullinger out rebounded Minnesotta's entire front line. Sullinger had 13 rebounds. The 6-11 240 Sampson, 6-10 260 Iverson and 6-8 240 Mbakwe had a total of 12. Minnesotta leads the Big Ten in rebounding and Mbakwe is the top rebounder in the Big Ten.
