Duke in the Big East?
-
september63Where would they be at this point in the year. Id say between 3-5. The BE is way too physical this year for the type of team Duke has.
-
Little DannyThe BE would be a meat grinder for a lot of teams not built for the league. Consider, St. John's imposed their physical will on Duke and the Red Storm are about the 10th best team in the BE right now. If you physically transplanted this Duke squad into the BE they could fall lower than 3-5. However, if Duke were actually in the league I imagine Coach K would have recruited different guys to match the level of physicality of the BE and would be near the top.

killer_ewok3-7 IMO. But as LD pointed out.....I think Coach K would be recruiting a different type of player.
-
wildcats20Depends on who they would have played.
Seton Hall, DePaul, Rutgers, and USF would not give Duke trouble. -
Rebel_ I.N.S.I agree with KE & LD Coach K would recruit different players if Duke were in the BE. If this Duke team were in the BE they would be middle of the road.
IMO their big's are to soft to play in the meat grinder that is the BE. -
wildcats20And like has been said, the BE is a physical league. The ACC really isn't. Coach K would be recruiting more tough, inside players and not as many guards who can shoot the ball.
Which is why, IMO, the transition that Roy made from KU to Carolina was easier than most. He didn't have to try and get a different type of player. -

Seton Hall is a good team with Jeremy Hazell. They'd give Duke trouble. -

I could see that. They're clearly a different team with him in the lineup. Dude can light it up. -
CinciX12Seton Hall without Hazell was abysmal. X beat them pretty good when it was an accomplishment for us to tie our shoes at the beginning of the season.
He is a fun guy to watch. -
september63Thanks guys. I agree though, If Coach K had to recruit to play in the BE he would, and would challenge to win every year. I wasnt bashing him at all, just asking.
-
wildcats20And the Dookies with Kyrie Irving aren't losing to Seton Hall no matter who is playing for them.
And FWIW, with Hazell in the lineup against Pitt, they lost by 21. I would say Pitt is comparable to the Dookies. -

Didn't X beat them by like 5? -

Yeah, but it was around a 10 point lead for the whole game. They made it a game though at the end. Hazell plays and they would have won for sure. -

Alright..I just remember looking at Seton Hall's schedule and remember seeing a 5 point loss which doesn't sound terrible..but a 5 point loss can sometimes mean being dominated. -
centralbucksfanlol...Duke bashing. Duke would be just fine in the BE. Just because they lost one game vs BE doesn't mean shit. It happens. Pitt lost to Tenn...does that mean Pitt would be middle of the pack in the shitty SEC? No.
-
dlazzDuke would win the BE in football.
-
Classyposter583-5? Lol Duke with Irving is just as good as any team in the Big East...no worries
