(3) Texas @ (16)Texas A&M

SportsAndLadyTexas off to a good start, up 18-6 on A&M
Side note..I really hate A&M's court. -
SportsAndLadyWow, 30-12
-
hoops23Texas is no doubt the 2nd best team behind OSU right now...

You baiting me hoops? -
hoops23Not at all.. I'd put KU at 3 right now, but as of right now I think UT is the 2nd best.. Of course, this is ever changing..
-
SportsAndLadyIf we're going off who is the best right now (as in, today), I don't think there is an argument for anyone other than Texas..yes, including ohio state. But like you said, that is ever changing.
Texas is peaking right now, I doubt they'll continue this form come march. -
Ankle BreakerI think it was just last week that Texas mauled KU at Fogg Allen. I think they're desering of a #2 ranking right now but, frankly, it doesn't matter much right now.
-
SportsAndLadyThey have 3 losses, KU has 1. Oh and mauled? Kansas was up 16-2 at one point. Obviously they weren't physically up for the task after spending their entire night up with their teammate who just lost his mother. Their 16-2 run to start the game showed the adrenaline they were running on after what must have been a terrible night; the Texas' victory showed the adrenaline running out.

Rebel_ I.N.S.I hope & pray for Kansas & Texas to meet in Big 12 title game. I just love to watch great basketball.

Didn't know anything about anyone losing their mother. It probably was a factor - i just noticed KU being outscored something like 51-24 in the second half on their home floor. That would qualify as a mauling, IMO. Sorry to hear about the young man losing his mother. I can see why KU is ranked above Texas even though I don't think they are the better of the two right now. Like I said earlier, none of this matters a whole lot right now. There's a lot of hoops to be played. -

His mother died friday night, the game was played saturday afternoon...the team spent the whole night up with Thomas; most said they got no more than an hour of sleep. None of them wanted to play the game, but what are you gonna do in that situation? You can't just not play.
Texas might be the better team right now, but they do not beat Kansas in Lawrence in normal circumstances. -
SportsAndLadyTexas against A&M tonight is a mauling, not the ku/ut game.

I agree with what you saying about Kansas I really think they will be a dangerous team in March. But I believe Texas is the best team in the Big XII right now. I guess we will have to wait till the Big XII tourney and hope they meet up. -
Midstate01so wait i dont understand your logic..... KU loses to texas, only because they were up all night....so you are saying texas isnt good enough to beat KU. But then you say Texas is the best team in the country, yes even better then OSU. SO where does that leave Kansas??? I just dont get it. Texas has a loss, and OSU doesnt. So at this point.... nobody has been as good as OSU. But i understand your big 12 bias i guess

Haha I was thinking the same thing just couldnt put into word. -
lhslep134I think Kansas is much more of a threat to go far in the tournament than Texas, therefore I don't care about records or head to head matchups, I think Kansas is better.

A team can be better than another team, and still lose. Like St. Johns is not better than Duke, but St. Johns beat them at home. Upsets happen; doesn't mean the team is better just because they beat them.
KU had won 69 straight games at Allen Field House, they were undefeated, and were coming off one of their best games of the season. Then Robinson's mother died 24 hours before the UT game, and the team was mourning with Robinson all night...they were not physically or mentally ready to play a basketball game, yet they had to. Their adrenaline carried them for the first 10 min or so, then it just simply ran out.
I didn't say Texas is not good enough to beat KU. I said KU would not lose at home to UT in normal circumstances. I said UT is playing better than anyone in the country right now, is that really that wrong? Oh and you cannot say since Texas has 3 losses and OSU does not, that OSU is better. If OSU had UT's schedule, they would not be undefeated. I have no idea who is better, UT or OSU, but you can't just look at their record and determine your choice. -
thedynasty1998I'm not going to debate who is better, regarding Texas and Kansas. However, I think both teams are very good. I think they played after the OSU vs. Illinois game and I remember watching OSU and then this game and thinking OSU would struggle with them both. I think OSU is as good as anyone, but Texas and Kansas certainly pass the "eye test".
