daveWonder what he's thinking right about now?
Instead of being butt buddies with Phil Knight, being able to recruit to an amazing arena, and making twice as much cash, he's sitting in 4th place in the Horizon. Most of his team will be gone next season. I guess he thinks he can find another Gordon Hayward in the cornfields. -
hoops23Hard to tell, but believe it or not, he very well could be happy there. If another job opens up, there is no doubt he'll get looked at. Honestly, you could ask the same about Mark Few.

vball10setMaybe he can ring up Greg Schiano and they can commisserate...sometimes you strike when the iron's hot, and sometimes you miss the boat--hard tellin' if they're kicking themselves in the ass or not.

swamisezButler will be fine. Will they be final four contenders each year, no. However, they will be a favorite in the Horizon for many seasons to come. Stevens is probably comfortable with this expectation. Oregon throws money around and expects their teams immediately become viable in the Pac? and also the NCAA tournament. Ernie Kent couldn't do it, and Dana Altman is struggling to do it right now at 10-11 overall.

I doubt they will be Horizon favorites next year, and for sure won't if Mack leaves early. I'd bet Oregon is better than Butler by next season, I think they only have a couple seniors. Altman just took over less than a year ago, give him 2 years with that arena and they will be PAC12 contenders. -
swamisezOregon should be better than Butler every year given their facilities, conference, and various uniform accouterment. However, in regards to Stevens and his happiness, I think that what he has done at Butler is commendable already, and over the years he will have more sustainable success than Oregon will. Of course, I could be dead wrong, but it is a theory.

daveYeah he will definitely at least have a shot every year at Butler even in a down year. It will be interesting to see how well he can recruit with IU, Purdue, and Cincinnati all getting much better. It could actually help with IU getting higher caliber players.
