Laley23Covering BG and Toledo for BCSN, I can say Toledo is terrible and BG is decent (not the OSU type of decent either). No clue how Toledo beat them.

Toledo did not beat BG, might want to do a better job covering . The Toledo women did, they look like the team to beat in WBB.
Toledo men have a few guys coming in next year that are sitting out this season. They should be better but still not great in 2011-12. -
Hb31187Hows my buddy doin today? Scott Thomas, texted em before the game and told em Bowdry was gonna give em buckets lol.

I knew that! They lost by 6, though I was still stunned it was so close.
Coach K wouldnt let us cover the team this year anyway cause we couldnt make all the games, only about half. So he said no. What a douche. That will be my excuse for that memory slip. -
burt07Went to the Ball State-Ohio game today, both teams are pretty below average-average, but at least there was a mini-brawl for entertainment.

cbus4lifeGo Redhawks!

I highly doubt that was a coach K decision only. I'll find out Monday. The athletic dept has really focused on the women's program this year while the men's team is rebuilding. They draw more fans than most MAC men's teams. I think 7 out of the 11 guys on the team are freshman.
Next season coach K will have 3 guys who are sitting out this season after transferring in. One was a top recruit to Iowa State and will be the best player on the team next year in Dominique Buckley. 2 others came from Green Bay and will be in the rotation. Add in a few solid recruits and next year's team will be much different. I'd expect a similar result to Beckman in his 2nd year. -

I hope they are better, Id like to see some of the NLL/City League kids get recruited to UT and actually think about staying. It would help attendance, relevance, and I think they have the talent to take UT to the tourney on a relative consistent basis(win the MAC). Just that the best ones are going elsewhere.
And I know it wasnt just his decision, but Im just a peon, and get the trickle down news lol. I know the decision is actually still being resolved (ie, may still cover some games in February and March), and revolved also on BCSN wanting to show some games LIVE and UT thinking it would hurt the attendance. The "selling" point for BCSN was that BG was giving us as many LIVE games as we wanted. -

What happened? -
WriterbuckeyeI can honestly say I'm surprised at how BG has performed so far. I'm just not that sure whether Orr is a good coach or not. Then again, I don't get to see them play that often.
As to Toledo and not allowing a media to cover periodically, couldn't the coach override a nimrod decision like that?
I never heard of such a thing. -

I'm only going off of what Russ said on the radio, but Washington and a Balls Taste player got into it (no idea what started it) with some punches, benches cleared over in a corner. Russ called it "violent" multiple times, said it was a hell of a fight for an NCAA game.
The refs were too stupid/lazy to accomplish anything (welcome to the MAC) and just T'ed up each offending instigator. The conference will definitely review it. -
HereticTeam at the bottom of the East (OU) beats the West leader (Ball State). No surprise. Like always, the West sucks ass.

Can't believe this...such high hopes coming into the season. If only we had Tillman or Alex Kellogg, our frontline would be infinity times better. We are going to need another magical conference tourney run to make it back to the big dance...sigh. -
burt07Yeah ts summed it up pretty well, definitely a pretty big brawl by NCAA standards. It broke out near the Ball State bench and OU coaches *sprinted* over to try and get guys away as quickly as possible. Don't really know if anyone was up for actually fighting, can't say I saw any punches thrown, think it was just everyone trying to act tough.

ts1227Miami scores 15 in the first half, and still comes back to beat Eastern 58-56, sinking a 3 with 0:02 left. lolmacwest.
-
burt07Hey Ball State beat Buffalo today, they can still gets it done! haha

West won 2 of 6 today, that's one hell of a showing for them! -

And BG is one of those losing teams. Not a surprise, since I think that team has been playing above its talent level so far in conference. -
robj55Scott Thomas from BG is the only player in the country averaging atleast 10 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 apg and 2 spg!
-
ts1227West has a record day for them, going 3-3 against the East!
If WMU can beat Kent on the 21st (makeup for a blizzard), the West can reach double digit victories over the East! East leads 26-9. -
ts1227Bracketbuster games this weekend, pretty sure Kent is the only one who gets a TV game. Bowling Green gets to go to YSU, woohoo!

OU travels to Winthrop in a battle of 13-13 vs. 12-14. More of a bracketbuster for that third-tier postseason tournament that I never can remember the name of than anything else... -
ts1227CBI, come on son. OU even went to the 2nd round of it in its first year!
